iOS Hackers Promise A5 Jailbreak Is ‘A Matter Of Days’ Away From Public Release

Pod2g and his “Dream Team” of fellow iOS hackers seem to be making some pretty decent progress on their much-anticipated A5 jailbreak, promising in their latest blog post that the exploit’s public release is now just “a matter of days” away.

If you haven’t already heard about the Dream Team, it’s a group of hackers personally assembled by Pod2g to assist him with his upcoming jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2, under Apple’s latest iOS 5 software. In addition to Pod2g himself, the renowned jailbreak hackers planetbeing, MuscleNerd, and p0sixnija are also involved.

And they’re making some pretty sweet progress. In his latest blog post, Pod2g promises the A5 jailbreak is not far away now:

Here are some news about the current work on the A5 research. @planetbeing escaped from the sandbox with the help of @saurik. Thanks to their awesome work, there should be nothing left blocking for the A5 jailbreak. Now it should be a matter of days. Still no precise ETA of course. We all want this to be finished ASAP, we’re getting tired!

This is promising news for users with Apple’s latest A5-powered devices, who are still unable to jailbreak. Those with an iPhone 4S have now been waiting four months for the exploit, which those with an iPad 2 who upgraded to iOS 5 last summer have been waiting seven months.

We will, of course, be sure to let you know as soon as the jailbreak goes live.

Seems like it’s getting increasingly difficult to jailbreak iOS with each iteration.

You can download paid apps for free without jailbreaking! And it’s legit! Go to… on your iDevice, download sponsor apps and reedem poaints for paid apps. You will get code that you reedem in iTunes!

Not having access to SBSettings and InfiniFolders since the 4S launch has sucked big-time…

I totally agree.  The folder limitation is ridiculous.  I have an entire page of full folders just with all games.  I want them back all in one folder

Time to go to Android when it becomes impossible.  I embraced it early but like iOS better but I will switch when it becomes unjailbreakable

Well iOS hackers should just make their own OS that operates on the iPhone instead of waisting time trying to crack every iOS that pops up. I’m sure they would have come up with an interesting alternative by now. Losers.

ios5 came october 12th. how have ipad 2 users been waiting 7 months for an ios5 jailbreak? COnfused!

  • Brandon Dillon

    That’s easy to do right?

  • Phil

It’s been how long since the iPhone came out? If they can’t come up with it in that time, then the losers should leave it to the pros.

good luck with the crap android, honeycomb, ice cream or what else..

I actually have one of the original Nexus phones but I don’t use it because I like the iOS interface better.  I don’t think it is crap, as you say, but it has improved a lot since the 1.0, but so has iOS.  I already put off a 4s purchase but if it gets a jailbreak I am in.

I even use a mac now since getting into iphones.  I never thought I would do that or admit it publicly but I love OSX, mostly due to it’s unix roots like iOS, but if they take away the console and give me more GUI, I am gone!
