TidyTilt Is Like A Smart Cover For Your iPhone, Only Much Smarter

I love Apple’s Smart Cover for the iPad 2, and I’ve had one stuck to my device since the day I bought it. It looks good, it protects my display, and it’s useful. I often wonder whether the same kind of concept could work for the iPhone, and it seems TidyTilt has an answer.

TidyTilt is like a Smart Cover for your iPhone 4 or 4S, only much smarter. Not only does it act as a kickstand for your device when you want to type, watch movies, or play games; it provides tidy storage for your earbuds, and a whole lot more.

It’s a KickStarter project from Zahra Tashakorinia and Derek Tarnow — two design students from Chicago — that currently needs your backing. And I think it’s well worth it.

The TidyTilt comes in two parts: a mount that uses a special adhesive to stick to the back of your device, and the kickstand/cover which attaches magnetically. Like the Smart Cover, the kickstand folds up to provide an awesome storage solution for your earbuds when you’re not using them, or to elevate your iPhone for watching movies and showing off your photos.

What’s more, the mount allows you to stick your device to other magnetic surfaces, such as your fridge, or a whiteboard. Check out the clip below that shows TidyTilt in action:

You can support the TidyTilt with donations between $5 and $7,000. $19 will get you a TidyTilt in one of four colors as soon as they begin shipping, while $36 will get you two. $68 will get you four TidyTilts in each color.

What do you think of TidyTilt?
