Spotify to Launch in the US Tomorrow Morning




Finally, after years of waiting, Americans will be treated to one of the best music services on the planet. Spotify is set to launch in the US tomorrow. The initial launch will be by “invitation and subscription.” Not sure if that means there won’t be a free US service like there is in Europe or not. Either way, Spotify is the best alternative to iTunes available and the US launch has been highly anticipated for about two years now. Spotify’s service allows users to discover and stream new music anywhere.


More details will be announced tomorrow at 8am EST. To sign-up for an invite go to According to Mashable, the unlimited service will be available for $4.99 per-month, and the Premium mobile service (required to use the Spotify iOS app) will be available for $9.99 per-month. The free service will roll out via invite over the next few weeks.

    It probebly means that the paid subscription will be open for everyone and the free ad supported service will be invitation only. The same way it was in Sweden when they released it here.

    Nothing more than a glorified radio service which I can get for free. No need to use my data plan for that. Another subscription service to eat up your data plan.

    Did you know that it´s possible to store a huge part of your playlist in so called “off-line mode” for 30 days (then you have to sync again). I have over 1000 songs stored on my phone that way. Perfect when your´e out of internet connection. The off-line syncing progress is really fast.
