One of the hottest features in macOS Mojave could make the jump to iOS soon: Dark mode is reportedly coming in the update expected this fall.

In addition, iPads running iOS 13 could get significant interface improvements, like better side-by-side multitasking.

If Apple does bring dark mode to iOS, as Bloomberg reports it will, the change should make looking at the screen for long periods less fatiguing. It’s also supposed to be less disruptive of the body’s natural sleep cycle.

In addition, dark mode should improve the battery lives of iPhone models with OLED screens. Darker colors require less power on this type of display.

Lots of changes in iOS 13 for iPad

Apple is allegedly working on additional changes for iPad owners. iOS 13 will include a redesign of the tablet home screen, according to Bloomberg’s sources. The current version draws complaints of wasted space, with application and folder icons surrounded by large amounts of emptiness.

And it won’t stop there. he next iOS update will allegedly allow applications to display multiple windows. The Safari web browser can already show different web pages side-by-side, and this is seemingly being extended to more apps.

The are also supposed to improvements to file management, though what these will be isn’t known.
