Sad that Tim Cook didn’t unveil a sleek new MacBook Pro yesterday?
You’re not alone, but you won’t have to wait much longer to throw down some money on a new ultra-thin MacBook, according to the latest rumor from Asia.
Apple is supposedly planning to launch new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBooks by the end of the second quarter, reports Digitimes, which has a mixed track record when it comes to nailing details on Apple rumors. The site claims Apple’s two new MacBooks will share a design similar to the 12-inch Retina MacBook.
The new MacBooks will allegedly be thinner than the current MacBook Air, which makes it a bit unclear if they’re talking about the MacBook Pro lineup that currently has a 13-inch and 15-inch model, or the MacBook lineup that currently has a 12-inch screen.
The new rumor lines up with an earlier report that Apple may ditch the smaller 11-inch MacBook Air, but add a 15-inch model, much as it currently offers with the MacBook Pro.
Intel’s Skylake processors are expected to power the new MacBooks, bringing supercharged processor speeds with 30 percent better battery life than previous MacBooks. Apple will reportedly debut the new MacBooks at its 2016 Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
