Live Videos might be a boon to content creators who want to capture the attention of more of Facebook’s teeming throngs of users, but getting a ton of notifications from all the sources you’ve previously liked can be a serious pain in the pants.

Luckily, Facebook plans to release a new update that will let you turn off Notifications for Live Videos altogether, which should please most of the people complaining about it on Twitter.

At this point, you can turn off notifications for individual Live Videos with a click on the Live Subscribe button at the top of any of these videos. That will only unsubscribe you from that particular page, however.

Facebook is working on a way to let you disable all notifications for Live Videos that should roll out in the next few weeks, confirms Digiday, but also promises content providers that the Live Videos, a key component of many providers’ strategy, will remain in people’s News Feed without fading away.

Less notification on Facebook is surely a good thing, as noted by Blake Joblin, who tweeted, “I keep getting Facebook notifications that this random girl I went to highschool with is live streaming…”
