Over the years, Apple concept designer Sam Beckett has made some killer videos, exploring possible ways Cupertino could revamp Notification Center. His latest concept again tackles Notification Center, but this time imagines how 3D Touch could make it better in iOS 10. I’m sold.

Beckett’s iOS 10 Notification Center concept explores how Notification Center could be made more useful and more customizable through the addition of new hardware toggles and app shortcuts.

Beckett accomplishes this by adding another row of toggles in Notification Center, which are fully customizable using long presses and hard presses. These toggles also gain contextual commands, through 3D Touch: for example, the option to turn on Do Not Disturb mode until the next morning, instead of indefinitely.

It’s a smart concept, one I’d love to see Apple investigate more fully. And as a bonus? Beckett gives iOS 10 a toggle for system-wide dark mode, perfect for all you night owls. I know there’s at least a couple of you guys out there who’d be happy to see that in iOS 10.

I love it, but given that *only* the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus currently have 3D Touch (and we can assume the 7/7plus in the autun will too, but still..), it I cant see it happening – the design doesn’t allow for the majority of phones without it. But my god, there’s stuff in there that should be there right now like choosing your own etc.

That’s what I thought, too. My mind was getting really confused while reading the article.
