We know all you good boys and girls have had your Mother’s Day gifts wrapped and hidden in the basement for weeks and weeks, but the staff here at Cult of Mac has been so busy covering all the Apple Watch that the holiday crept up on us. So we thought we would share our last-minute Mother’s Day gift guide with you, in case you’re in the same sad boat.

Let’s be honest, though, most of these items come straight from wish lists of the Cult of Mac wives, so even if you already picked out the perfect Mother’s Day gifts for mom, who doesn’t like a “just because you rock” gift?

Moshi Urbana briefcase (above) — $149.95

Smart, stylish and surprisingly spacious, Moshi’s Urbana briefcase will swallow a 15-inch MacBook and still have room for mom’s iPad, books and everything else she always seems to have on hand during a time of emergency. The Urbana offers plenty of pockets for organizing the essentials, plus water-resistant protection from the elements. Geeky enough to make a nerdy mom happy, while stylish enough to not be embarrassing.

Plantronics BackBeat PRO wireless headphones — $249.99

It is definitely time to upgrade mom’s headphone game. Why not throw her in at the deep end with Plantronics’ wireless, noise-canceling, microphone-equipped, feature-laden BackBeat PROs? There is a lot going on with these Bluetooth cans, but after just a little bit of a learning curve the controls become quite intuitive. Crank the volume on one ear, control other crucial music app functions on the other, and take a call without ever having to look at your phone. The styling may not be for everyone, but the PROs definitely have an “I am busy, don’t bother me” thing going on. Mom will appreciate the comfort factor — and the fact that they pause when you take them off and rest them around your neck.

That’s right — this is a puffy jacket. A puffy jacket that weighs less than 8 ounces, and is water-resistant and windproof. Mom can pack this lightweight beauty into it’s own pocket, stuff it into her purse, trunk or carry-on bag and be ready for whatever the weather brings. And the
Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer Down Jacket comes in plenty of color choices.

We know dad loves a pair of cycling bibs for Father’s Day, but buying mom cycling clothes can be a little more precarious, just like navigating the Port-O-Let as a lady. Along comes Giro with a new idea: the Ride Halter Bib. Instead of making these shorts a bib, they made them a halter. So instead of having to take her jersey off, mom can just unzip it, pull the halter over her head and get the business taken care of. They even put a little storage pocket at the back. What will they think of next?

The Snow Peak Titanium Curved Flask says, “Hey mom, I know I’m a pain in the ass, but I love you. Have a pull.”

Is your mother a bicycling badass? Is she planning a trip this summer to ride the Dolomites or the Rockies or even a week riding across Iowa in the heat on the RAGBRAI? Well, Castelli has just the thing for your climb-loving loved one. The Castelli Women’s Climbers Jersey is shockingly lightweight. It’s also designed to keep most of the fabric away from your skin, thus moving moisture away from your body and into the land of evaporation. Just tell mom to be careful: It’s easy to get a sunburn right through this fabric.
