Former super model Christy Turlington Burns has been counting down the weeks leading up the London Marathon by blogging about her experience training with the Apple Watch.
Burns revealed new details about the Apple Watch leading up to its release, but now that the marathon is over and she’s crossed the finish line, Burns can add awesome another feature to her blog: it helped her break a personal record.
The 46-year old Burns, who ran for her charity, Every Mother Counts, told the BBC before the London Marathon that she was hoping to record her first sub-4 hour marathon time by coming in “something around 3.55hrs.” She shattered that goal by finishing in three hours and 46 minutes (quick enough to qualify for the 2016 Boston marathon).
Along with setting a personal record, the mother-of-two also managed to convince George Clooney to run the marathon in 2016. Clooney reportedly bet Burns that if she could finish the marathon in under four hours he’d do run it next year wearing one of here charity’s T-shirts. No word yet if Apple’s giving him a fancy gold Apple Watch to train for it.
