When it comes to Asia, Apple’s increasing foothold in China has been the big Cupertino-related story of the year. However, mainland China’s far from the only Asian country that’s big into Apple devices.
According to a new report published today, Apple stormed the smartphone market in Taiwan for the month of November, capturing a 24.6 percent share in sales volume, and a massive 48.9 percent in sales value.
Of the 10 top-selling phone models sold in Taiwan last month, different configurations of the iPhone 6 represented four of them, with the most popular models being the 64GB iPhone 6 Plus, the 64GB iPhone 6, and the 16GB variants of both devices.
After the iPhone has eaten up the lion’s share of sales, other smartphones which sold well in Taiwan included Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4, the Sony Xperia Z3, HTC Desire 816, HTC One M8 16GB, ZenFone 5 16GB, and HTC Desire 820 dual-sim.
Compared to mainland China, Taiwan is, of course, a minnow when it comes to sales. Apple’s success in the country does, however, continue to demonstrate just how big a market Asia represents for Tim Cook and co. Then again, when it comes to Taiwan, perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised: this is, after all, the country where a politician once dressed up as Steve Jobs to try and secure more votes for himself.

This kind of iPhone 6 and 6+ market share “domination” sounds like what seems to be happening in Japan as well.
i would say for the rest of the world too…this baby IS the best iphone ever!!!
The genius analysts claimed that no one in China would be buying an iPhone when they could buy Android smartphones just as good for half the price of an iPhone. Supposedly all the China subsidies for iPhones would no longer exist and Apple would be effectively put out of business because of the iPhone’s higher price. The analysts and news media were making these claims right before the iPhone 6 models were introduced. However, I haven’t heard a peep from the know-it-all idiots since that time.
All the forecasting idiots will be able to do now is focus on lower iPad sales in order to devalue Apple. They still won’t quite understand why iPhone 6 Plus sales replacing iPad sales is a positive factor because the iPhone 6 Plus margins are far higher than a mid-range iPad. It’s probably obvious to anyone but an analyst that consumers don’t need to buy both an iPhone 6 Plus and an iPad. It’s much easier for the analysts to claim Apple’s iPad business is dying because it sounds much more foreboding.
