We all know that cats love playing with iPads. It turns out they’re not the only ones: the penguins at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California love playing with iPads so much it can help them get pregnant.

In the above video, head aquarium aviculturist Sara Mandel tells Cool Hunting about how she has been using the iPad app Game for Cats to captivate her penguins during workout sessions meant to keep the penguins healthy, and their reflexes sharp despite creativity.

But here’s where it gets interesting. The healthier a penguin is? The more they want to bang, which leads to more baby penguin chicks flopping around the zoo. Cute!

Of course, none of this is very good for the iPad itself, which seems pretty scratched up by the beaks of penguins pecking at the screen. Mandel might want to get a screen protector for that.
