What will Apple call its new iPhones tomorrow? The safe bet is “iPhone 6” for the 4.7-inch model, but what about the larger 5.5-inch version? iPhone Air? iPhone Pro iPhone 6L?
“iPhone 6 Plus” will be the name Apple goes with, according to a new report.
Japanese site Macotakara, which has provided accurate and widely inaccurate info on Apple in the past, believes the 4.7-inch model will be simply “iPhone 6,” while the 5.5-inch will get the “Plus” treatment.
The line-up will reportedly be like the current iPhone 5s, with the same three colors and storage sizes in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. Interestingly, Macotakara is uncertain if we’ll see the previously rumored 128GB size.
iPhone 6 Plus would certainly be a new naming convention for Apple, but it could make sense if the 5.5-inch model is indeed marketed as a more premium device with better specs.
