Lightning Extender Lets You Charge Your iPad Without Removing The Case

This tiny $7 dongle looks essential for anyone who uses a case on their iPhone or iPad. It’s a Lightning to Lightning adapter that does one thing: move your iDevice’s Lightning port a centimeter (0.033 feet) down from the bottom its host.

Yes, it seems silly, but then so is having to take the Smart Case off your iPad just to stick it onto a charging dock or – worse – to plug in a fat-bodied accessory. I have a BlueLounge MiniDock that is super handy but for the fact that I have to strip my iPad naked before charging it.

I also like the offset design of the male/female adapter, which overlaps the in/out ports to keep it compact. If nothing else, this will be a great place to stick my microUSB/Lightning adapter so I don’t keep losing it.
