Get Swiftly Back To The Beginning Of App Store Search Results [iOS Tips]

Back to Search

When you searched for apps in the App Store in iOS 6, you got a bunch of cards that you could swipe through to find the specific app you were looking for. To get back to the beginning, you’d need to swipe back as many of the apps as you’d swiped through, and that could take some time.

There’s a new little trick in iOS 7 that makes it a lot easier to pop back to the beginning of the cards.

Launch the App Store on your iOS device, and then do a search. I typed in “dead,” because it’s Halloween and all, and I like scary stuff. Tap the blue Search button in the lower right corner and you’ll get all the apps that match the term you typed in. I found 1,522 of them, so if I swipe through a bunch, getting back to the first result, often the one I want anyway, is going to be time consuming.

Now that you’re running iOS 7, though, it’s no problem. Simply tap on the little Search icon in the bottom button bar, and your iOS device will snap you back to the very first search result it found, which is handy if you need to get there quick. Hooray!
