Little Galaxy Is Our iOS Game Of The Week [Editor’s Pick]

Little Galaxy iOS Game of the Week

This one caught me off guard this week as I played through the new offerings on the iOS app store, looking for choice games to show off to you.

Little Galaxy is surprisingly captivating, encouraging yet another try to beat my previous high scores, or–in a recent round of the game on the couch with my daughter–trying to beat each other’s score.

Needless to say, she won.

Developer Bitmap Galaxy has a definite hit on its hands here, with an engaging yet intensely simple set of gameplay mechanics. All you need to do is tap the screen on your iPhone or iPad, and the little boy jumps off the planet he’s on, flying through space and (hopefully) landing on the next planet up. It’s a little bit endless runner, a little bit physics game, as you tap and try to keep from flying off the screen, or letting the darkness catch you from below.

Here’s a quick screen capture of the gameplay, for your viewing pleasure.

As you can see, it’s fun to listen to, gorgeous to look at, and super fun to play. Little Galaxy is available now as a Universal app in the App Store for $0.99.
