BenQ has launched a new portable projector which will work alongside your iOS devices. Called the GP10, the device will take the movies and TV shows you have stored on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and project them into a 40-inch high-definition image fit for any home cinema. It has a ton of cool features, too.

One of its best is its “short-throw” projection technology, which allows it to display a 40-inch image from just one meter away. So unlike traditional projectors, the GP10 is great in small rooms and confined spaces. It also has two SRS-powered 3W speakers built-in for surround sound.

The GP10 uses RGB LEDs rather than a lamp to provide you with rich images with a 550 ANSI lumen brightness, and a 10000:1 contrast ratio. Its Eco Mode will provide up to 30,000 hours of viewing time before there’s any decrease in brightness.

The GP10 will pull content from a whole host of devices, including computers, consoles, set-top TV boxes, camcorders, and SD cards. And with its iOS companion app, you can use it with your iPhone and iPad, too. You can even buy a detachable DVD player, which clips onto the bottom if you want to.

The GP10 is available now, and it’s priced at $495/$749.
