How Apple Has Changed The World In Just 7 Years [Picture = 1,000 Words]

The photograph at the top is from the announcement of the new Pope, Benedict XVI back in 2005; the photo at the bottom is from the announcement of Pope Francis yesterday. Says everything that needs to be said about how Apple has changed the world, don’t you think?

I wouldn’t necessarily say apple (could be other devices in the image) but technology/mobile has definitely spread over a short period of time

Right, but we all know it started with the iPhone… even the Android phones at the time were designed like a blackberry. Apple started what has become a real change in our lives… you can’t argue that.

Or maybe in 2005 people had a tiny bit more respect & kept their phones/cameras in their pockets whereas people nowadays just don’t care & feel the urge to constantly update everything they’re doing on Facebook & Twitter. :-P

    2005-2013, aren’t that 8 years?

I remember the phone I had in 2005. It had a 1mp camera. Not even worth taking out. And it was top of the line. It wasn’t respect, it was lack of technology.

“How Apple Has Changed The World In Just 7 Years [Picture = 1,000 Words]”

Benedict XVI began his papacy on April 19, 2005 and Francis I began his papacy on March 13, 2013. That’s much closer to 8 years than 7 years.

Modern mobile phones started with the iPhone, but year-over-year mobile usage has increased dramatically since before the year 2000….

Ummm, okay, if you wouldn’t mind telling us which android phones were available when the iPhone came out to support that claim. I just can’t remember a single one but as you assert there were maybe you could explain.

To say Apple didn’t change the world is just naive or belligerent denial. They did. Everyone KNOWS it.

That picture is amazing. I’m surprised how many smart devices are in that picture. Those people must have a lot of money over in Vatican City. You take a snapshot of President Obama’s Inauguration Speech and you’ll see lots of smart devices but not as many percentage-wise as in this picture. This pic almost looks like a commercial, like it was staged.

Phandroids – S3 is the first smart phone to go head to head with iPhone and surpass it. S3 has only been around for a year, so save it. I have the Galaxy S2 and it doesn’t compete with iPhone 4 let alone the 4S hardware wise or software wise and I’m not getting anymore updates whereas iPhone 4 continues to get new iOS updates. It took Android 5 years to catch up to iOS, congratulations, you can finally say your OS doesn’t suck anymore.
