Apple Announces iPhone 5 & iPad Mini Are Coming To China In December

Apple has issued a press release announcing that the iPhone 5, the iPad mini, and the fourth-generation iPad with Retina display will be arriving in China next month. Both iPads will be available on December 7, while the iPhone 5 will be available on December 14.

The news comes just days after the iPhone 5 was granted the third and final license it needs to launch in China. Apple obtained authorization for two different models — A1429 and A1442; one of which is compatible with WCDMA 3G networks while the other is compatible with CDMA-2000 3G networks.

It’s thought the WCDMA handset will be headed to China Unicom, while the WCDMA handset will be headed to China Telecom. Both carriers already offer a previous iteration of the iPhone.

The iPhone 5 and both the iPad mini and the fourth-generation iPad will be available via the Apple online store, select Apple Authorized Resellers, and by reservation from Apple retail stores. Reservation requests are accepted daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for collection the following day.
