The Absolute Worst iPhone 5 Delivery Experience Of All Time [Image]

The Absolute Worst iPhone 5 Delivery Experience Of All Time [Image]

Imagine powering through your work day, high off the anticipation of a new iPhone 5 waiting for you at home. You keep checking the UPS package tracking to make sure they drop it off and leave it on your back porch because you’re not there to bring it inside.

Pulling up to your house, you can feel your heartbeat pulsing with excitement in your fingertips, so you run to the backyard to retrieve the new love of your life. And there it is. Shredded to pieces by your cute doggy who really, really needed a chew toy. Does AppleCare+ cover dog attacks?

You should call the delivery company. They can’t leave a box without any signature on the receipt, at least in Italy. Did someone sign? If not IMHO you’re eligible for a complete refund.

Actually Apple doesn’t request signatures. They use the cheapest methods possible in delivery. I believe mine was delivered by FedEx once under the recycle tub that’s upside down.

If it is UPS, the end user could have went on MyChoice and told the UPS system to hold it at their warehouse. Some are open to 7pm to sign and pickup.

    Exit one doggy !!!!

Is that a female dog? If so, this picture only suggests to me that female dogs hate the iPhone 5 so much.

Time to put that mutt down.

That would have been one epic unboxing video… even though it looks completely fake.

That pooch is just begging to be sent to the animal shelter and put to sleep. Talk about poorly trained animals. Maybe the owner should be the one sent to the animal shelter.

TF are you talking about? Every time I got my iPhone either because of repair or getting a brand new iPhone I had to sign the package to receive it. They just don’t leave the iPhone at your house without you telling them to, IDIOT! ;) oh btw I have had my iPhone sent by apple both through UPS and FedEx different times and both required me to sign the package in order to receive it.

Disgusting comment. Someone should put you to sleep. Permanently.

Wow, this isn’t true at all. Every time I retrieve a package from Apple, I need to sign the package in. You honestly don’t think Apple would send 2 grand computers and NOT have you sign for it, right? That just leaves the door open for lawsuits from people who’d claim that they never received their items.

I think the dog got caught up in all the iOS Maps hate going on.

Actually, in the US, most carriers that they ship through do require a signature. You can, however, pre-sign for delivery or make alternate arrangements if you know that you’ll be away. http://store.apple.com/us/help/shipping_delivery

    Interesting how:

A dog manages to open a package and leave no other debris, like it just ripped it open, and didn’t chew his way in. (OK, I’m assuming Fido is a boy…)

Assuming the screen is at the 12 o’clock position from the dog’s head, it isn’t broken, just cracked. Fido must have pulled the screen off and just dropped it.

Fido distributed the contents of the box… wait… where is the iPhone box? Did it just come in the brown one?

Anyway, it is interesting how Fido distributed the debris in a 6′ x 3′ area. I wish my dog did that, when he destroys things.

Fido managed to get the two pieces of paper out of the box without mangling them with his mouth. Must have used the same mouth that he used to rip open the box without the debris.

Fido got the USB cable around that other piece (1 o’clock position), yet those USB cables aren’t just thrown in there. They have some kind of tape on them, or something to keep them coiled. How did Fido get the tie or tape off the USB cable?

Everything looks like it was removed from the phone. I don’t usually eat phones, so I don’t know how they taste, but for texture, why didn’t Fido chew on the charger?

I second the vote – now might be a good time for you to crawl back into your dumpster. You might get treated kindly at the animal shelter.

This is staged. And what fool has a important delivery to his house with his dog in the backyard. I’d have made sure I picked it up from the delivery facility. I own a dog – she’s pretty well behaved but no way would I trust a expensive device in the backyard. The dog isn’t the idiot = the person who had it delivered was. Keep that in mind when you make stupid comments about the dog. It’s up to the human to be smart which obviously didn’t happen in this case.

  • technochick

Most likely a total fake. And if it is not then that is one idiot person for not having it sent to the office etc.

And no, Apple doesn’t cover catastrophic damage caused by user idiocy.

  • markbyrn

    The dog’s name is Samsung
