Apple unveiled the iPhone 5 to the world this past Wednesday. Besides the privileged few, most third-party case/accessory makers saw the iPhone 5’s final design at the same time as everyone else: during Apple’s media event. Apple’s thick veil of secrecy hasn’t kept case manufacturers from getting ready, however. Rumors and part leaks predicted the iPhone 5’s look and feature set pretty precisely during the months leading up to last week’s unveiling.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 5 started Friday, September 14th, and the new smartphone goes on sale officially this Friday, September 21st. If you’re in the market for iPhone 5 cases, then companies like Incase, Otterbox, Incipio, and others have you covered.

Incase

Incase’s Slider Metallic case

Well-known case maker Incase has a new line for the iPhone 5 that customers can place pre-orders for now. The basic Slider Case from Incase sells for $35 online in either white or black. There’s a glittery, “Crystal” Slider case option in multiple colors for the same price. A hardshell Metallic Slider iPhone 5 case is available for $35 as well in three colors. Incase sells a cheaper Snap Case for $30 and an iPhone 5 Sports Armband for $40.

All Incase pre-orders for the iPhone 5 will ship in early October.

Otterbox

Otterbox has optimized its cases for the iPhone 5

Otterbox has four iPhone 5 cases in the works, and two are currently available for pre-order. The company’s Commuter Series costs $35, while the Defender Series costs $50. Both series come in a host of color options.

Otterbox is known for its durable cases, and these iPhone 5 cases look to be no exception. The Reflex and Prefix series should be available soon. The cases that are currently available for pre-order should ship in the next couple of weeks.

Incipio

This Incipio case comes with a built-in kickstand

Incipio, another case maker known for quality designs, has 8 iPhone 5 cases currently available for pre-order, and all are expected to ship on September 21st. Cases include the FREQUENCY for $25, feather for $25, feather SHINE for $30, DualPro for $30, DualPro Shine for $35, OVRMLD for $35, KICKSNAP for $35, and LGND for $35.

X-Doria

A bumper for your iPhone 5

X-Doria has 12 iPhone 5 cases available on its website. For example, the $30 Defense 360 is available for order now. Apple discontinued its bumper case with the iPhone 5, but X-Doria is offering its own bumper for $20:

For essential protection that doesn’t cover up the look of the new iPhone, Bump is the perfect solution. Slide your iPhone into the Bump by X-Doria to add shock and scratch protection to the edges. Bump’s raised profile wraps to the front and the back, creating a raised edge that protects when you lay your phone down.

Mujjo

Mujjo has a hand-crafted iPhone 5 sleeve and felt wallet available for pre-order. Both ship on October 10th and come with a free fisheye lenses.

iPhone 5 Sleeve Brown (€34.95)

Crafted by hand, this sleeve is made especially to fit the new iPhone 5. This snug tailored for the new iPhone 5 combines minimalism with long lasting elegant accents. It is made of high quality top-grain 100% vegetable-tanned leather and is hand-dyed using environmentally friendly dyes. The leather can be easily cleaned and is water repellent.

iPhone 5 Wallet Brown (€29.95)

The wallet features a unique combination of 100% wool felt and high quality leather. The leather strap provides a simple closure and keeps the iPhone 5 secure. The smart storage compartment allows you to store your business cards, credit cards and more. The strap is made out of high quality top-grain 100% vegetable-tanned leather. The felt can easily be cleaned; a special treatment provides excellent anti-peeling properties and makes the sleeve water repellent.

Not all accessory makers can get their iPhone 5 goods out in time launch weekend. Companies like mophie that provide charging case solutions need more time to actually run diagnostics on the iPhone 5.
