Pro-Spec Phocus Case Puts SLR Lenses On Your iPhone

Want.

Another day, another iPhone camera lens case and adapter. This one is called the Phocus and manages to distinguish itself both by its angular, military-look styling, and by the fact that you can (with a further adapter) stick your SLR lenses on the front.

You iPhone 4/S slides into the oversized case and transforms into a compact camera. Like other cases, this one comes with accessory wide-angle, macro and telephoto lenses, and has a brass tripod mount and an accessory shoe.

The kit comes in two ways: with two lenses for $100, and with three lenses for $135. The SLR adapters are $220 for Canon lenses and $245 for Nikon. That’s pricey, but may be worth it if you have a good collection of 35mm glass.

The only problem I see is that Apple may well be nearing the end of the iPhone 4/S design life. If the “tick tock” strategy of 3G/3GS, 4G/4GS continues, then this pricey but nice bit of kit might be obsolete by the fall.
