Google finally released its hugely popular Chrome web browser for iOS yesterday, and just as we had expected, it’s the best third-party browser so far. In fact, in many ways, it’s also better than Apple’s built-in mobile Safari browser. And you can now use Chrome as your default browser on your jailbroken iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches, thanks to the BrowserChooser tweak.
Less than 12 hours after Chrome made its debut on iOS, BrowserChooser hit Cydia, courtesy of jailbreak developer Ryan Petrich. It’s a lot like the Browser Changer tweak that has already been available for some time, only unlike Browser Changer (for now, at least), it supports Google Chrome.
Furthermore, BrowserChooser is completely free. All you need to do to get your hands on it is add Petrich’s repository to your Cydia sources.
To do that, tap the ‘Manage’ tab at the bottom of the app, then tap ‘Sources’. Now choose ‘Edit’ and then ‘Add’, and then type rpetri.ch/repo and add source. After a quick refresh, you’ll be able to find BrowserChooser simply by searching for it.
