Readdle has released a major update to PDF Expert, its flagship PDF Expert app for the iPad, introducing high-resolution Retina support for the latest device, and a number of handy new features like document thumbnails and support for embedded media.
Version 4.0 is available in the App Store today, bringing with it “the most useful and wanted features.” Readdle says Retina support is probably the most requested feature among those with the new iPad, and it makes reading text and making notes and annotations in PDF Expert an even greater experience.
You can now watch videos and listen to audio embedded into PDFs. “This is an amazing selling tool,” Readdle says. “Think of all those sales people using their iPads for demonstration purposes. This feature can also be used for educational materials in schools and universities.
Finally, version 4.0 also adds support for PDF attachments and PDF portfolios.
PDF Expert is arguably the best PDF editor there is for the iPad, and it’s well worth its $9.99 price tag. If you already have it, the latest update is free.
