This week’s roundup must-have apps features the long-awaited Skype app for the iPad, a beautiful new music app from Rdio, the quickest and easiest way to sell your old gadgets through eBay Instant Sale, and a new digital magazine from AOL that’s tailored just for you.

Skype for iPad(Free) iPad — Social Networking

After a seriously long wait, the official Skype application is now available for the iPad. Just like its iPhone counterpart, this app allows you to call, video call, or instant message anyone else on Skype for free — as long as you have a data connection, of course. Alternatively, you can add Skype credit to call landlines and mobiles at an incredibly low rate. The app boasts full-screen video calling utilizing the front- or rear-facing camera on your device; and a wonderful user interface (unlike the Mac application) that makes using Skype on the iPad a whole lot of fun.

Rdio(Free) iPad — Music

Rdio seems the be another app users have been waiting a while for on the iPad, but I think you’ll agree it has been well worth the wait. Rdio is one of the best ways to unlimited, on-demand music on your iOS device. Much like Spotify, Rdio is a subscription service that will cost you $15 a month, but for that you can listen to more than 10 million songs ad-free, anytime, anywhere. Search and play the entire music catalog while you’re online, or create and sync playlists for listening while you’re offline. And just like its web app, the Rdio app for iPad looks fantastic. Rdio is only available in the U.S. and Canada at the moment — unless, of course, you use a VPN service.

eBay Instant Sale(Free) iPhone — Lifestyle

The eBay Instant Sale app is a fantastic way to get quick and easy cash for your old electronics, or recycle them for free. Rather than having to list your items and wait for them to sell, eBay Instant Sale allows you to get instant cash for your laptops, phones, tablets, PDAs, cameras, MP3 players, GPS and loads more of your gadgets. And the process is quick and simple: just use the app to search for the item you want to sell, enter the condition of your device and the app will give you an offer for it. If you choose to accept the offer, you’ll be emailed a free shipping label so that you can send your device off to an authorized eBay reseller for a evaluation, and once the item is assessed, the cash will be sent to your PayPal account within 5 days. Selling your old electronics couldn’t be easier.

Editions by AOL(Free) iPad — News

Editions by AOL is a brand new and unique digital magazine for the iPad that is tailored to suit you. It learns what you like (and what you don’t like) and creates a daily magazine that’s completely personal to you  — whether you’re into entertainment, technology, fashion, business, or local happenings, Editions connects you with the best stories to match you’re interests. It means you spend less time searching for content you enjoy and more time reading it. Fine-tuning Editions is easy: just pick keywords that you like and that you don’t like and the app will do the rest. You can also get local news and weather, and even your daily calendar. You won’t find another digital magazine that gets this personal.
