Believe it or not, today’s magnificent featured setup includes five computers — each with a job to do, even the ol’ trash-can Mac Pro — and one absolutely huge computer monitor. It’s a 57-inch curved ultra-wide Samsung. What, 49 inches wasn’t big enough for ya?
And the workstation includes other great features. Those include a Rode PodMic, the same great open-back Sennheiser headphones I own, and powerful Klipsch bookshelf speakers paired with a subwoofer that I wish I owned.

3-Mac and 2-PC setup goes with huge computer monitor and primo audio
The new Mac mini is smaller, lighter and 50× more adorable. It's super-powerful and by far the best deal in computing right now.
- Powerful M4 Pro chip
- 512GB storage
- 24GB unified memory
- Compact desktop design
- Headphone jack on front
- BYODKM (bring your own display, keyboard and mouse)
In a post titled “My Macs Setup,” Redditor and in-between-jobs digital marketer ongnoi showed off the five-computer setup with gargantuan 57-inch Samsung ultra-wide display that equals two 27-inch 4K displays. Redditors loved everything about the room, including the Radeon GPUs decorating the wall from Ongnoi’s previous Hackintosh use, and they posed plenty of questions. Like, what do you do with three Macs and two PCs?
“I’m learning local LLM [large language models] and the [PC] towers and Mac Studio M1 Ultra with 64GB are mainly for that purpose,” Ongnoi replied. “Mac Pro is for [listening to] music (Toslink to amp) while Mac mini M4 Pro is the daily [driver].”
They further explained that the Mac Pro includes a dedicated port for audio-out, which they use to run a Toslink — aka an optical ToshibaLINK — directly to the amp. And the Mac mini and Mac Studio connect to a USB-C to SPDI/F, SMSL PO100 on the USB-4 dock.
As for switching between computers, Ongnoi relies on several USB-4 components.
“I use a Cable Matters USB-4 switch to share a USB-4 dock between Mac mini and Mac Studio,” they said. “I use another Cable Matters USB-4 switch on the Mac Pro which connects to a RX 6800 eGPU behind the black tower.”
Huge computer monitor: 57-inch curved Samsung
This big display is equivalent to dual 27-inch 4K UHD monitors. The 1000R curved gaming monitor features a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, DisplayPort 2.1 support, Quantum Mini-LED, DisplayHDR 1000 and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro (LS57CG952NNXZA, 2023).
- Massive screen real estate
- Great for gaming
- Fast refresh rate and response time
- Pretty pricey
As a helpful commenter pointed out, the resolution of the sprawling, 57-inch Samsung G95NC is 7680 x 2160, equal to dual 4K monitors — but without a bezel in the middle. It’s a good thing it’s equivalent to two displays, because it ain’t cheap. It costs $2,000 even on sale, marked down 13% from $2,300.
“If you would buy two 4K monitors, then you would love this,” they said. As part of a long discussion about monitor resolution, they added that while the display lacks a high pixels per inch (PPI) rating, that’s not necessarily a bad thing because a user looks at the display from a great distance than they would with, say, an iPad.
Display features:
- 57-inch DUHD resolution creates a display as wide as 2 UHD monitors with detailed, sharp images and a wide field of view that appears to wrap around you.
- 240Hz refresh rate reduces lag.
- 1ms (GTG) response time and minimized ghosting enables precise gaming.
- New DisplayPort 2.1 support.
- Complex and fast-moving game scenes project smoothly and stutter-free with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.
- Quantum Matrix Technology with Quantum Mini LEDs creates controlled brightness and improved contrast improved by 2,392 local dimming zones combined with 12-bit black levels.
- 1,000 nit peak brightness and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio enable enhanced color expression and depth.
- Input options include DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1 and USB Hub.
Stellar audio gear
This pair of compact but powerful bookshelf speakers achieves peak power of 200 watts. Each speakers features a 4-inch spun-copper IMG woofer and a 1-inch LTS tweeter mated to a Tractrix Horn.
- 50W continuous power, 200W peak
- Pair with subwoofer for more bass
- Amazon marks them "frequently returned" despite good reviews and 4.7 rating
People also showed some curiosity about the audio gear. In the photo, you can see powerful Klipsch bookshelf speakers mounted on stands on either said of the display. A 98-inch Ikea Karlby table top used as a desk makes room for all this stuff, by the way. It’s so big it needs a pair of Ikea Alex drawer units and an Ikea Adils leg to hold it up.
“The integrated amplifier is Arcam SA20 that I found at Best Buy Outlet for $400. I connect Toslink and optical cables directly to the amp (built-in Sabre DAC),” Ongnoi said, describing their audio gear when asked.
“Speakers are Klipsch 4-inch bookshelf and 12-inch subwoofer,” they added. “The stands are Kanto SP9. Other gear intended for audio use is ART PS4X4 power conditioner, mounted under the desk on left side and Sennheiser HD 660S open back headphones.”
