Woz: I Was Misquoted About Not Liking The New iPads

By

stevewozz

Last week, we reported that cutesy-wutesy-fuzzy-wuzzy-wumpus-bear (and Apple co-founder) Steve Wozniak was unimpressed with the new iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina Display. His supposed complaint? 128GB just wasn’t enough for a man with a huge media collection like him!

It seemed uncharacteristic for Woz to publicly bash the company he helped create. Woz is an innocent, and usually reacts to every new Apple product with wide-eyed glee, so his complaints seemed strange. For good reason, too, because Woz says he was misquoted, and actually likes the new iPads just fine.

The History Of WWDC: Apple’s Biggest Announcements [Feature]

A look back at Apple's biggest WWDC announcements from the past decade.
A look back at Apple's biggest WWDC announcements from the past decade.

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) has been a staple event for the company since since the turn of the 21st century. The first ever WWDC was held in 1983, but it wasn’t until 2002 that Apple started using the conference as a major launchpad for new products. Since then, Steve Jobs and Co. have unveiled products like the Power Mac G5, Mac Pro, iPhone, and plenty of software. Because WWDC has always been a developer-focused conference, Apple uses the event to announce new apps, OS X versions, major iOS updates, etc. For an Apple fan, it doesn’t get much better than WWDC.

With WWDC 2012 set to kick off on Monday, June 11th, we decided to take a look back at the big announcements Apple made at WWDC over the past decade.

Samsung Takes A Jab At iPhone Users (Again) In Latest Teaser Video

The term iSheep has been around for quite some time to describe those who purchase Apple products for no other reason than the fact that they’re Apple products and to denote that they all look the same. While I believe every facet of life has its “sheep,” Samsung makes an obvious reference to these iSheep in its latest Samsung Unpacked teaser video where they use sheep to depict “everyone else.”

Download iTunes 10.1.2 Now If You Want To Sync Your Verizon iPhone

By

Yesterday afternoon, Apple released version 10.1.2 off iTunes through Software Update, a seemingly mysterious update to Apple’s catch-all media library / shopping / syncing / social networking software gryphon.

As is usually typical, Cupertino was terse about what was in iTunes 10.1.2, only noting that it “provides a number of important stability and performance improvements.” No new features were mentioned.

Don’t shrug off iTunes 10.1.2 though, especially if you plan on buying a Verizon iPhone in the coming weeks. In the update’s Read Before You Install iTunes document loaded in the .dmg file, it is explicitly noted that the 10.1.2 update adds support for syncing with the CDMA iPhone 4.

Best grab the 10.1.2 update now if you plan on jumping ship to Verizon. You might easily forget, then spend hours bashing your head against the wall in activation before a Genius finally explains the problem to you with such smug bemusement that you almost squinch his turtleneck shut with your hands then and there.
