Apple dropped the first full trailer for Octavia Spencer’s crime drama, Truth Be Told, which will debut on Apple TV+ in December. Spencer plays a journalist investigating whether she helped send a man to prison for a murder he didn’t commit.

The biggest iPhone emoji update of the year is finally ready for testing if you’re a developer.
Apple seeded iOS 13.2 beta 2 and iPadOS 13.2 beta 2 to developers today. The update comes just over a week after the first beta brought Apple’s Deep Fusion camera technology to the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. With this latest beta, Apple has finally added support for the Unicode 12 update that adds 59 new emoji characters.
The round Tile Sticker is the new model, but there are also updates to Tile Pro, Tile Mate and Tile Slim. Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac
Anyone who’s ever spent a half hour searching for the TV remote can understand the appeal of the Tile Sticker. Glue it to anything relatively flat and you’ll never misplace that item again, as your iPhone can have this tiny tag play a loud alarm. Or put one on the headphones you can never find, or maybe the back of your ID badge.
There are also improved versions of the Tile Pro, Tile Mate and Tile Slim out today to help with finding your keys or wallet. Just don’t get lost in our reviews of all four new item trackers.
Diamonds, lots of gold and a $30,000-plus price tag. Photo: Caviar
Caviar, a Russian jeweler known for its expensive smartphone modifications, may have created a fourth iPhone to go in Apple’s iPhone 11 line.
Behold, the iPhone 11 Pro Bling.
Bling is not the official title. It’s actually Victory. But once you see the exotic treatment Caviar gave to the already good looking iPhone 11 Pro, Bling is apropos.
The OWC USB-C Travel Dock adds multiple ports to an iPad Pro or MacBook. Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac
The OWC USB-C Travel Dock has five ports to extend the capabilities of your MacBook or iPad Pro, including HDMI and dual USB-A. Wrapped around these is a casing of aluminum and plastic thick enough to stand up to the kind of punishment many of us subject our gear to. Yet it still looks professional.
We used this multiport hub on several business trips. Here’s how it came through.
For a while today, this was all you got if you tried to download the Amazon Prime Video app. Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac
Update: The Amazon Prime Video app is back in the iOS App Store after mysteriously disappearing for much of the day. Why this high-profile app went missing for so much of the day remains unknown.
Whether its disappearance resulted from a simple glitch or some sort of quickly resolved dispute between Apple and Amazon isn’t yet clear.

Deep Fusion support on the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max is finally available for testing if you’re an iOS developer. Apple’s latest computational photography feature adds even more detail to pictures by combining multiple images into a single shot.
Apple seeded the first iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2 betas to developers this morning after teasing the release yesterday.
The AirPods have a longer stem so they can receive even, err, less sound. Photo: Asos
Would you buy a pair of AirPods knockoffs that don’t actually play any sound? It sounds crazy (and, frankly, it is), but that’s exactly what one company is selling; cashing in on the fashionable status of Apple’s wireless earbuds.
Fashion e-tailer Asos is selling the $12 “faux headphone earpiece in silver tone” as a piece of jewellery. Because it’s 2019 and this is what people do.

The brand-new 10.2-inch iPad is now available from the Apple Store. If you already have yours, it’s time to make some of your money back by getting rid of your old model.
Swift usage is on the rise again. Photo: Killian Bell/Cult of Mac
Apple’s own programming language is slowly taking over its mobile operating systems. iOS 13 contains more than twice as much Swift as iOS 12, according to research from Alexandre Colucci.
A huge number of Apple’s own apps and features now contain Swift binaries. A total of 141 have been uncovered in Apple’s most recent iOS 13.1 release.
