A merger between Sprint and T-Mobile could be back on the table, according to a new report that claims informal talks between the two carriers sparked up again this week.

Sprint attempted to acquire T-Mobile back in 2014 but the deal fell apart because of regulatory concerns. Now the heads of both companies have expressed to investors that they’re willing to consider consolidating again.

The FCC ruled today that T-Mobile has been throttling customers on its ‘unlimited data’ plans after receiving complaints from customers.

T-Mobile agreed to pay $48 million to settle the FCC’s investigation which discovered ‘the un-carrier’ slows down data speeds of the top 3% of its heaviest users during times of congestion without notifying customers that they were being throttled.

According to charismatic T-Mobile CEO John Legere, reports about a supposed lack of interest in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are way overblown.

How overblown? In a live Periscope chat with customers, Legere said that T-Mobile’s iPhone 7 orders are shaping up to be four times those of the enormously popular iPhone 6.

The iPhone 7, he noted, “is a big, big deal.” Who are we to disagree?
