Visual Intelligence, which previously was reserved for the iPhone 16 models, will reportedly reach the two iPhone 15 Pro variants in the near future.

Realistically, there was no reason why the artificial intelligence feature shouldn’t have been added to Apple’s 2023 models with the debut of iOS 18. In fact, with the growing demand for AI-powered productivity tools, many users are looking for ways to AI take notes efficiently to enhance their workflow.

Visual Intelligence for iPhone 15 Pro: Coming soon

Apple’s new Visual Intelligence feature offers a quick way to find information just by pointing the iPhone camera at an object in the real world. Someone can, for example, point the camera at a poster to add the event details to their calendar.

When it debuted at the launch of the iPhone 16 series, Apple made it clear the feature was exclusive to the latest models. As part of that, activating the visual search feature was activated with the Camera Control that’s only in the 2024 models.

But the just-announced iPhone 16e also offers Visual Intelligence, despite not including the Camera Control. The AI feature can be accessed via the Action Button, plus it’s in the handset’s Control Center.

That same is allegedly going to be true for the iPhone 15 Pro.

“Apple representatives also told me today that owners of the iPhone 15 Pro will soon be able to bind their Action Button to visual intelligence, ‘in a future software update,’” reports Daring Fireball. That refers to both the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.

In addition, the option to access Visual Intelligence from the Control Center will apparently expand to all models that support it.

Which “future software update” is bering referred to is unknown, but iOS 18.4 is a strong possibility. It’s expected to reach customers in early April.

But don’t get your hopes up that the other iOS devices will also get the feature. It’s part of Apple Intelligence, the umbrella term for all the company’s artificial intelligence tools, and these require hardware that the basic iPhone 15 models and before don’t have.
