This is my last regular news post for the Cult of Mac. Since my arrival at the site’s inception, there have been many changes in the Apple landscape — and on these pages. It’s time to move on.
When I first began here, the iPhone was new, Steve Jobs was still on the sick-leave roller-coaster and the Cult of Mac was just breaking away from its nest at Wired. Today, we are writing about the iPhone 5, getting comfortable with Tim Cook as Apple CEO and looking forward to the next stage of Cult of Mac as the news source for all things Apple. For myself, as Apple becomes a mainstay in business, I leave my duties as the unofficial Cult of Mac business editor for other tech news endeavors.
I want to thank my friend and boss Leander for bringing me onboard way back when. Also a hat tip to Deputy Editor John Brownlee for his patient working turning my Wall Street wonk into more interesting tech tabloid. I enjoyed working alongside a great bunch of news writers, their names well-known to readers.
But I especially want to thank the readers for supporting the idea that the Mac world is one cult you never want to escape.
Editor’s Note: We’ll miss you, Ed!

We’ll miss you Ed! Thanks for everything
Ed, you were one of the best. Thanks for all the posts.
You will be sincerely missed Ed. So often you’ve been the reason I’ve held back from deleting CoM from my RSS feed. One more reason to think Cult of Mac/Android/WhateverWeCanCashinOn is circling the bowl.
word around town is you’re taking time off to study interpretive dance…. you will from this point on be known as “CrazyLegs”
You were the best writer here Ed, you’ll be missed. Â
So long, and thanks for all the fish!
Wish John Brownlee was leaving instead, he is the worst here.
We’ll definitely miss you Ed. Look forward to your writing in another venue!Â
You’ll definitely be missed, Ed. I liked you better than Brownlee & Kahney. Â ;)
Thanks for all your articles! Great stuff, so sorry to see you go.
that’s a bit much
Lol.
Not really, he posts mostly half arsed garbage, though the standard here at cult of mac is not much to shout about.
Good luck Ed. I won’t ever leave the “cult” either. I heart Apple stuff. Luckily there is life after COM. Plenty of opportunities out there….
