Ever the early riser, Tim Cook tweeted an early morning message today commemorating the life of Steve Jobs, who passed away five years ago today.
“Remembering Steve and the many ways he changed our world,” Cook wrote.

Cook also included a quote from Jobs as part of his message: “Most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.” The line comes from Steve Jobs’ 2005 Stanford commencement address, a speech that was an outlier in Jobs’ later career for delving into Jobs’ own personal life for lessons.
Tim Cook took over as CEO from Steve Jobs in August 2011, when Jobs was no longer able to fulfill his day-to-day duties at Apple with any consistency.
At the time, the plan was that Jobs would take on the role of chairman and get involved with blue sky R&D projects where his health allowed. Cook has spoken previously about how he didn’t expect Jobs to pass away as quickly as he did.
