Apple CEO Tim Cook and Koch Industries CEO Charles Koch are usually on opposite ends of the political spectrum, but the two business titans are coming together to support a common cause: The Dreamers.
In a rare opinion piece authored by Cook and Koch, the two implore Congress to act now so that this holiday season isn’t the last one in the United States for 690,000 of our neighbors.
“We must do better. The United States is at its best when all people are free to pursue their dreams,” writes Cook and Koch for the Washington Post. “Our country has enjoyed unparalleled success by welcoming people from around the world who seek to make a better life for themselves and their families, no matter what their backgrounds. It is our differences that help us to learn from each other, to challenge our old ways of thinking and to discover innovative solutions that benefit us all.”
Earlier this year the Trump administration proposed to remove protections for undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as children. The plan will supposedly go into effect early next year. If the protections are removed, over 690,000 could face deportation.
Tim Cook told employees earlier this year that he would work with Congress to ensure dreamers that work at Apple are protected.
In their letter, Cook and Koch acknowledge how hard it is to get anything done in Congress. But if there was ever an occasion to come together to help people improve their lives, this is it.

Oh yes, the US is at its best when it has a steady influx of low wage workers willing to work for wages that undercut Americans and depress wage growth. Gee, I wonder why these two would be so interested in cheap labor and stagnant wage growth.
I LOVE the cognitive dissonance the left is facing here. The ‘big bad fascist Koch brothers’ are on their side, and it physically hurts them because they don’t actually know a gøddåmn thing about their own talking points, so they have no idea how to react. It’s hilarious.
Also, they’re all going to be deported and there is nothing you lunatics can do to stop it.
