Remember those sexy 27-inch Thunderbolt displays Apple announced it would sell once they slipped out the first Thunderbolt MacBook? They’re now zooming on their way to stores, featuring FaceTime HD cameras, 2.1 speaker systems, three USB ports, a lone Firewire 800 port, a Gigabit Ethernet port and a second Thunderbolt port for daisy chaining.
Don’t expect this to all run cheap, though. You’ll spend $999 for one, or about the price of a MacBook Air.

Sexy, sure, but i’m still waiting for a non-glossy one. I can’t believe that there is no more non-glossy screen available…
Put me down for one with an anti glare display !
While $999 sounds like a lot, try to find an IPS 2560×1440 display for less. Plus it includes a Thunderbolt hub.
Why the Ethernet port on this display?
Anything you drive this with is going to have an Ethernet port already.
Is there something in the future plan that I’m missing?
I suspect the reason for the Ethernet port to be because the MacBook Air has no hardwired Ethernet port; it has only wireless capability built-in.
Ah… that makes sense now.
Thanks
i think the best deal in this case is to buy the new iMacs where with only additional few hundred of dollar you get a ferrari desktop and in the same time you can use the iMac to be connected as external screen for your mabook Pro / air
