I was wrong about the iPhone 4s. I said it would be great. I predicted it would be the best phone ever built. The truth, it turns out, is that the iPhone 4s kind of sucks.
There. I said it.
And it’s not just the iPhone by itself. The iOS 5 upgrade, the design of some new apps and iCloud all add up to a degraded experience with using the iPhone.
Here are the 6 major things wrong with the new iPhone.

Do you mean the iOS 5 upgrade? Or is this another COM typo?
I think you are asking too much from Siri!! :P lets not depend on it for every little thing and you might just love it for what its Actually for! :P
U must be using replica of iPhone 4s, i just dont agree with u on any point battery isnt efficient but not that bad i can have 13 hours and after that 40% still exist.
Wow! I can’t believe this entry actually made it. I suppose this is a blog and all, but as a fellow 4S owner, I don’t agree with a single point you make. SIRI is beta, you know this! IOS4, really? I should have stopped there…..but like a train wreck..
are you a columnist?, you thinks that the iphone 4s sucks in your opinion. Next time write “on my opinion” in the title.
I agree with you, the battery life is the worst of any phone since my Motorola startac flip phone. This iPhone is an epic fail and it feels like a really half-assed attempt to stretch out an existing and profitable form-factor.
i usually have nothing good to say to you guys in your articles. BUT. This article puts itself out there supposedly as a review of sorts. What it actually feels like is a complaint list of the writer for what he expected to get in the new iPhone and not based on what the new iPhone 4S can do. Sure, we all had expectations with the supposed leaks and images and the flurry of activity days and weeks before the new launch. I expected a lot more as well. With that being said, I think this writer is being a little harsh for the new iPhone. Seriously, this is a great piece of work. I upgraded and was interested to find out what this new phone could do. I was very impressed with the camera…amazing pics so far. Video quality is brilliant. For a phone, this has an amazing capability as a camera as well. Great job. With regard to the battery life, there was some issue pointed out a few weeks ago that the original iOS 5 software sent with the phone had a little glitch in it that may have made batteries lose their life quicker. I’m surprised this writer didn’t actually read that anywhere and point this out to the readers. It’s a simple fix and, while a hiccup, not worth a full write up about it. Just fix it like anyone would do. I’m surprised you’ve suffered this long with your iPhone and not handled what needed to be handled. It’s true that you may not be one of those people who enjoys the process of discovering together what works and adding to the experience. Some people just want a windows phone out of the box with all of its crappy components and weighed down software and with no options to upgrade your experience. What should have been written here was what are the options to fix some of the things that people may be dealing with when using this new technology, not, in my opinion, occurring like a poor victim of technology…with credentials. Expectations always lead to disappointments. If this was supposed to be about your failed expectations you could have just said that up front instead of representing it as a credible review of the product. I’m getting off my soap box now. I will always continue to read your stuff…thanks!
Wow terrible post this guys is DA and apparently doesn’t know shit and hasn’t ever used a iPhone 4S ever!! Everything he said was off from camera to screen the apps to Siri if he forgot they call it a Beta for a reasons!!
that guy starts to be (un)famous for that kind of articles…
this is poor writing
Are you forgetting that Siri is BETA?
iCloud will suck for awhile (MobileMe did), that’s why I didn’t convert.Chris, FOMfriendsofmac.net
iCloud is brilliant? How can you say it sucks?
Have to say I disagree with this review. I sync by exchange, don’t have a .me account, and Siri remembers my wife. Is Siri perfect, no. But it is shocking to me how well it works in crowded settings etc… It is definitely as accurate as my typing fingers and most of the time much quicker. My battery life sucked for about a week. All of the sudden in the last couple of days it is great. Same levels of usage and everything. This has been my experience with iPhones. Occasionally, the battery life gets terrible and then a sync or something makes it work well again.
Biggest problem I have with your review is that the issues you are having are things that could be fixed with the next software update which could be really soon. Saying don’t buy the iPhone 4S because of them doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Wow this is nothing but a hyperbole headline, with a few sentences to drive traffic rush to his column. I am still waiting for my 4S and should I have the problems I won’t bitch because I KNOW APPLE will issue updates to fix any issues.
there are a number of technical inaccuracies with the article (not the strap-line above, but the ‘main moan’). I think the author has misunderstood the way some features operate. For example “Messages” certainly does not constantly check for messages; it’s push technology!
I do agree with some points
The toolbag who wrote this article is an absolute moron….reading that link of the things wrong is laughable. Camera sucks? Really! Have you used it???!!!! Yellow tint on screen? REALLY! Are you that stupid! iCloud complicated!!!!! Are you shitting me! Its brainless! Mike Elgan should be let go from writing for CoM. This is the stupidest article I have read on here by FAR!
the camera sucks?? r u insane?
why would you let your phone remind you of charging when you arrive home when your battery is almost full?
That “article” is idiotic. It’s not worth the time it takes to reply to it. Please. He’s just trolling for responses; nobody is actually that stupid.
In the back of my mind I was hoping for an iPhone 5 but this was like the kid in my head hoping for something on christmas that wasn’t going to happen.
I’m still not sure why most are so up in the air that it didn’t materialize. What came after the 3G?
Ok, then get over it already, no iphone5, it’s not there stop bitching.
However I do agree with one or two of his points. The camera.
The first weekend out I took lots of videos and pictures throughout different times of the day and I have to say that when it decides to take a good photo or a good video, it is good but it is also inconsistent. I noticed little to zero image stabilization to the magnitude shown by Apple. My pictures at night are very very very grainy even in fairly lit outdoor areas. I couldn’t believe how many pics I did have to trash but like I said when it wants to, it can take great photos.
On some other posts, I don’t see how you take an app and make it sound like it is a fault of the phone yet it did not come with the app. Friends and Family and any other app that constantly has to connect to the network will, no duh, drain the battery quicker. This just makes sense. Turn it off, turn off location services for apps that you dont actually use daily. Bluetooth, WiFi, etc if turned on is constantly transmitting or searching, using more battery. Like if someone leaves the TV on at home so they don’t have to turn it on when they walk in the door yet complain about a higher electric bill. Stop being lazy and complaining. Try to help fix your own problem.
Cus hes a douche bag….
Sadly, this is pretty accurate and true…
it sucks…
wow i want your battery mine dies down to 20% on 75% standby in less then 13hrs
You mad, Bro?
;)
Hey Mike Elgan… you can eat sh*t!
I couldn’t disagree more with your article. I have had the 4S since the day it shipped and it has worked flawlessly. Is this the first time battery problems have existed with a new OS? No. I’m sure an update will address the issues. I have had zero problems with my new phone. Siri? IT’S IN BETA!!! Get over it. Why are you even writing for this website?
Ha ha good job Mike…somone has to be honest i fell you i need to trade my 4s in its an overpriced 2yr old phone that now talks to me….when it wants to work…
Wow, that article is absolutely terrible. Seemingly every point is incorrect.
1) Maybe iOS 5 is just making people use their phones more, making the batteries drain?
2) Find My Friends only drains the battery when someone else is looking up your location.
3) Similarly, iMessage (as well as Find My Friends) is tied into Apple’s ‘push-notification’ service, which is designed to be as efficient as possible. That’s not the cause of any additional battery draining.
4) The camera is awesome, and anyone who believes that a tiny phone-camera aperture shouldn’t suffer in low-light conditions clearly has no grasp of how cameras actually operate.
5) The image stabilisation is for video recording, not still photos.
6) The writer moans about Siri not working with a third-party email and contacts service. Seriously?
7) “The problem is that it’s exactly what Apple says it is: an unfinished beta.” Wow. If the writer knew this, why were his expectations so high? Further more, every Siri interaction that I’ve witnessed has worked perfectly, unless the user was trying to use it in a very loud room or something.
8) “Some 80 percent of my interaction with my phone now is via Siri.” — and he’s complaining about the battery life? See #1.
Articles like this make me stray away from this site. Just go buy an android and move on with your life.
Mike, do some research before posting crap like this. Your only two problems with any substance (the yellow screen and the battery problem) are known issues with fixes available. Look it up for cripes sake!
Your supposed to be a leader not a follower and your lack of knowledge on technological matters just makes you look like an idiot (considering it’s your job to be smart about this stuff). This reads like it was written by a confused Grandmother.
This guy’s a total douche. Why spend time and energy re-posting an article that is so badly written and is inaccurate?
What is the point of this review? 4 of the 6 reasons you name are not even about the phone itself – that’s 66%.
Battery life is worse – you’ve said it yourself, with iOS5 even the previous generations take a big hit. Turn off the extra features and you’ll have better battery life.
New apps have cheesy design – really? Are you serious? That’s a great reason not to buy the 4S.
iCloud adds complexity and confusion – if you can’t handle it, don’t use it! Might give you better battery life as well – see point 1.
Lousy Camera – this one might be related to you, my 4S takes absolutely stunning pictures that are on par or beyond the quality I get from my Point and shot – but wait, oh yeah, this one’s a cell phone. Image stabilization refers to the video functionality and works great. It doesn’t apply to still pictures. Look at comparisons and you’ll see the 4S’ camera is well improved even compared to the iPhone 4.
The screen is broken – one should assume you’ve been doing this long enough to remember that the iPhone 4 suffered from similar flaws. My phone is two weeks old now, the glue dried an the yellow tint has gone away.
That leaves Siri – and even in beta it works great for me
Stupid. Incorrect. Now unliking from my FB stream so I don’t have to see this crap.
Then the 25% or 4 hours you actually use your phone must be strictly for streaming netflix and playing Rage HD. If you think the 4S battery sucks youre a moron.
Can’t tell if Trolling or just Stupid?
I would have to disagree. I feel that the 4S delivers on all of the points Mike negates.
This is the exact moment I lost the last bit of my respect for this website. Congrats Mr Egan on a terrible article.
On second thought, no one could possibly be as stupid as Mike makes out in his article.
This means that the whole article is disingenuous link-bait and Mike is just another asshole who isn’t even serious about what he’s writing here. For shame.
I know CultofMac has a lot of link bait stories and I don’t mind that because some of them are fun (like Nicole’s pieces). There’s a difference between being playfully inflammatory however, and just making wild lies up for money.
Mike Elgan just writes too many of these kind of things and it’s more than a little insulting to the readers.
No its pretty much the best thing ever. You never have to worry about anything, your phone keeps it all together for you…
UR RETARDED BYE
Seriously? What an idiot for posting this, Mike. This is in no way a news article, this is a revised review and 100 opinion based. The phone is an UPGRADE from the 4 in processing power and gaming graphics. To boot, I’m able to take great pictures at night with very little grain. I also rarely have blurry pictures, I think this is more or a user error for jerking the camera around before the picture than an actual camera issue. Yellow screen…. glue? My black iPhone 4S has NO issues.
Mike, if I were you, i’d take this post offline. It’s bullsh*t to get a big online debate going, and you know it. Be a true journalist and write articles that are actually true and not random bits and pieces of user flaws. This article, more than anything, proves you’re not smart with technology and all your years writing about technology are heading for the trash.
Mike Elgan you need to be sacked lmfao.
Haven’t had most of the issues you discuss. Camera is amazing, Siri is amazing, Cloud is great.
If you don’t like your 4S I’ll gladly take it off your hands.
Just removed Cult if Mac from my Flipboard because of the terrible idea to post an attention grabbing article like this… For Shame
Mike, you’re a fickle douche bag. Just shut up already.
You are an ass!!! Is this really your job? What part of Siri being a Beta product don’t you understand! Get a life!
Maybe you have a defective iPhone 4S. Take it back and get an exchange to see if there is any improvement. If you don’t like it, then just return it and buy any one of dozens of Android smartphones which might be more suitable for you.
CTFXC
Wow. This site is just getting worse and worse. wtf was this piece of BS? You didn’t even proof read nimrod… it’s not a iOS 4 upgrade… it’s iOS 5. Get a plastic knock off phone and keep your crap opinions.
While I don’t think I would go so far as to say the 4S “sucks,” I will say that I am concerned that the battery life is significantly less than what I had previously. Though I suspect that is more of an iOS 5 problem since iPhone 4 users have also noticed battery life (and heat) being an issue since the upgrade to iOS 5. Hopefully as updates come out to iOS 5, the battery life issue will be improved. My only other critique is the limited ability of Siri outside of the US, but I knew that going in to my purchase and understand that international support is forthcoming in later updates.
You dumbass
Seriously dude you ARE out of your mind!
Get a life Mike! Put your iPhone away and get your favorite Android…
This article is garbage. It belongs on an android fanboy website blog. I thought this site was pro apple.
Well if you’ve got a dozen different apps activated in Notification Center, and Location Services turned on for just as many, you get the battery life you deserve.
Only smart people should use smartphones!
Also, if you’ve got the NYT app or other news app automatically updating in Newsstand, you can just watch your battery drain. Duh.
As usual your cluelessness is a shining bacon to idiots the world over.
cult of mac,m why would you reprint this nonsense???
When will cult of mac editors finally get rid of this dinosaur?
When will cult of mac editors finally get rid of this dinosaur?
I love Cult of Mac, but this is the most, almost “Windows User” bashing type post. Why are we hating on battery life when iOS5 has a lot more location and “Connivence features”. Does anyone know that with that comes a different effect. It’s like buying a supercharged car and complaining that it eats more gas or requires premium gas. I don’t get why people complain about charging their phones, buy a freaking phone charger for christ sake. I charge mine while I sleep on my iHome dock. Go to work, if I am playing music I keep it plugged in my car. I use my phone about 90 percent of my work day and I know that the battery will get drained so I have a charger at work. People act like they can’t turn off these “battery draining” features. I can see if your walking through a desert for 5 hours and you can’t plug it in, but come on people it’s 2011. If the screen is so messed up return it and get another one. The camera in my opinion is fantastic, a lot better than the iPhone 4 camera, I take pictures of drums everyday for customers and the detail is so much better along with quality. Keep in mind it’s a camera with assistant features not a built in photographer, to make you the next Jonathan Thorpe (btw check him out VA represent).
“The problem is that it’s exactly what Apple says it is: an unfinished beta”. So why are we beating a dead horse saying it isn’t 100%.
I will admit the transition to iCloud wasn’t the best, but it’s the first release. Come on now
“there are a number of technical inaccuracies with the writer.”
– there, I fixed that for you.
Wow… must not be a lot going on in the Valley today?!? Mike please never write another column in your life, please and thank you!
Mike Mike, we have been through all this …
But seriously, you shouldn’t post for Cult of Mac anymore.
Even better: you shouldn’t post anymore.
J.
i was gonna call you and anyone who agrees with this nonsense a deuce bag but someone else already did
I have no problems with my iPhone 3GS.
This article is Troll Spam. Shame on Cult of Mac for posting this garbage. When you try and read the article you get sent to a survey. WTF? Did you guys get hacked or what?
I know whats defective, but it isn’t the iPhone.
Hey Window’s sympathizer listen up.
If you like the iPhone 4, then you are retarded if you say you don’t like the iPhone 4s because the iPhone 4s is the same thing as the iPhone 4!!!
I don’t know if any of you remember, it was a year ago, but the iPhone 4 had battery issues too. It was a software update that fixed it. I was testing the beta update and found that if you have fetch for mail on other than manual it will drain your battery. This was iOS 5 beta running on an iPhone 4. Now, I don’t know if they fixed it but there could be another issue not showing itself just yet. It’s early and any early product has it’s flaws that are later fixed.
Long story short, if you don’t like it don’t buy it. I hear Nokia just released their windows based phone. Go buy that.
mmmm bacon
Dear Cult Of Mac, Can you please stop using Mike Elgan? Everything he writes is either idiotic, link bait, or just plain wrong. Usually a combination of all three. It really brings the quality of your publication down. Thanks.
Guys, this isn’t our content. It’s a post our columnist Mike Elgan wrote for another site. Part of our agreement with our writers is that they can post links to articles they’ve written on other sites for promotional reasons. In the future, we’ll try to make this clearer, but if you’ve got a problem with this article, Datamation is the place to go to voice your concerns.
Aw truth hurts
I’ll agree with most of this article. 4S doesn’t suck by any means, but I think some points were right on. Whatever happened to just liking gadgets and technology? Does everything people say about apple have to be good all of the time? How many of you were rockin apple back in the IIGS days? Probably not many, apple has a lot of late to the party fans that try and speak awfully loud for the company and for the product. Does the phone suck? No, is it perfect? No. Its nice to know that we can have freedom of opinion on everything but apple products, if you say one questionably thing about the company, you’re automatically a douchebag? Good group of people here.
One thing that people have trouble grasping is that Siri is a Beta. But I think it will ALWAYS be a Beta. The same way Sony’s Playstation Home program was always a Beta, Siri will follow suit. It’s a beta in the sense that it is a feature, application, and program that will always be growing, upgrading, and becoming further developed, versatile, dynamic, and universally integrated. It will never be a finished product, it’s never going to reach a point where Apple says “Well we’re done adding things to Siri, so there you go.” Not that it won’t reach a stage where it is developed so substantially that it stands alone as a finished product, it’s simply that it will never truly be finished.
Just my two cents.
The upgrade is iOS 5
I’ve got to agree, but I’d say that it’s sucked for a while. That’s why I’m switching to WP7. Apple have been letting things slip for a while, Antenna-gate and then the alarm thing, Lion and now this. I’ve been right with you from the original iPhone but now no more.
Lets see some screen shots of all this crap this guy says make the iPhone suck. I have used both a 4 and 4s and Im not seeing any of what he says.
I don’t consider this bashing at all. I think many of us have come to expect greatness from Apple — especially when the bar is continually raised. So when Apple released a spec’bumped version of the 4, I don’t think many were too excited for the upgrade. Now come to find out that Siri and iCloud aren’t that great, many are wondering what was the point in upgrading?
I for one upgraded to the 4S only because my 3G was starting to feel majorly outdated (never mind its cracked screen and general slowness in comparison with the new model.)
My biggest gripe is with iCloud which I don’t find overly useful. I was hoping that my wife and I would be able to sync our iPhone 4S calendars together using iCloud — instantly pushing events/updates between both of our 4Ss, no matter where we are in the world. The trouble is with Apple’s mandatory User IDs, where I am unable to get this function to work properly. It’s been pretty frustrating. (In fairness, I haven’t contacted Apple for help yet though, that’s next).
Screen colors seem fine to me but again, I’m coming from the 3GS, so retina is infinitely better IMO. I have a black 4S and my wife has a white one. There IS a very discernible difference between the two in terms of an overall yellow’ish color tone. Apple excuse was the same screen glue not having enough time to dry, as with the 4.
I debated getting the 4S and did consider other options, but Apple is for me. I’m nose deep in paid apps and I couldn’t justify leaving Apple’s ecosphere and switching to another manufacturer.
for the sake of progress, I too am hoping the iPhone 5 is light years ahead of the 4S and that the introduction of LTE 4G (assuming this is the case), is not the major selling point. We’ll see.
Maybe its time to drop Mike Elgan as a writer for your site.
Finally someone says it. It’s true. They seem to have replaced suing for innovation now. So sad, I really liked the design of my IPHONE 4 but the problems coupled with this, no. There’s only so much you can take.
You mean the ios5 upgrade..
I was excited, really excited about this until I watched the keynote. I can’t spend my money here any more Apple. Disappointing doesn’t even begin to explain it.
He’s a writer for Cult of Mac. The article was approved to be posted/linked from this site. I feel it’s perfectly acceptable for people to voice concerns on this blog.
Just some FYI. Mike Eigan is a known hater, and bullshit journalist, and not respected in the Industry. He never likes nothing. So his article on the iPhone 4S doesn’t surprise me. He should learn how to be a respectable journalist first, and then someone would take his articles seriously, but MS. Eigan is just that a lady.
yo Mike Elgan quit being a bitch..and if thats how you feel go buy an android.
read my comments on ms. eigan above.
Mike a clueless jackass. I don’t fault him for writing linkbait, that’s how you make money on the web. What pisses me off is the idiotic commentary he offers. Then I read some of his other articles. All the same uninformed crap.
Also got to agree. Not happy not happy at all. Never thought I’d say this, but I’m going to have to hop off the Apple band wagon after this.
That’s not an argument. I’d be interested in specific commentary you disagree with and why.
OK. So if we want to complain about the CONTENT, we should go to Datamation. Check. Where do we go if we want to complain about the content? Go to Datamation. Ok. But there’s content here…where do we go again?
Fact: Cult of Mac published (or REpublished if semantics are desired) the article.
A small disclosure at the bottom of the page does not absolve its editors of responsibility. If it’s not an accurate article or if it has content the editors don’t agree with, DON’T POST IT. Simple.
If you have an agreement with your writers that allows them to post with impunity, that’s just shoddy negotiating on your part.
But I really doubt that’s the case – CoM likes their link bait just like everyone else, and an obviously trolling headline like “The Horrible Truth: The iPhone 4s Sucks!” on a site called Cult of Mac is sure to drive a lot of traffic (as evidenced by the number of comments here).
CoM x T + ( Bus / Mike Elgan ) = truth, where T ? throw.
“Known hater”? “Never likes nothing”?
Anyone can just look at what I’ve written to see how false these statements are: http://www.cultofmac.com/autho…
Just removed Cult of Mac from my reader. Mike should go to the Windows forums and bitch about the latest version of Windows XP. Way to stay in the loop Mike.
I would certainly spend my money on an iPad, MacBook, iMac, Apple TV, etc. In fact, I did spend my money on an iPhone 4s (like I said, I love me some Siri).
Actually, the post is illustrated with one screen shot taken by me on my phone.
What App do I need to activate this function
Right you are. I fixed it. Thank you.
When Android fans attack iPhone specs, or say Apple didn’t invent this or that, Apple’s response is always: What matters is the user experience. And that’s true.
It has to be said (which is why I said it) that the overall user experience with the 4s is inferior to the user experience with the 4. It’s just true.
Another piss poor article. Seems to me nobody there has a clue.
That’s not an argument. I made six very specific points. I’d be curious to hear your specific disagreement with any or all of them. For example, am I wrong when I say the battery life is far less than the 4? Am I wrong when I say the screen is yellowish?
Curious to hear your arguments.
When have we been through this? I’ve been gushing positively about every mobile Apple product for years.
I wasn’t trying to make an argument, just stating my opinion. You apparently are a complete dolt, incapable of reading the simplest of instructions or applying the least bit of common sense. That level of stupidity simply can’t be argued with.
That’s not an argument. Again, please, if you have some specific point to make, let’s hear it.
Battery life is significantly reduced in the iPhone 4s, in my experience.
It’s less battery life worse than more?
So it’s the user’s fault? That’s a Microsoft argument.
What about battery life and yellow screen?
Also: Do you sync with Google services?
I’m an opinion columnist. That’s what I do. Obviously this is opinion, but of course based on the facts that I spelled out in the column.
Which facts aren’t true?
Again, you suggest I’m wrong but can’t think of anything I’m wrong about. If there’s something in the column you disagree with, let’s hear it.
Waiting for specifics….
I was testing the geofencing feature, but Siri wanted to call “Iris” for some reasons.
“The Horrible Truth: The iPhone 4s Sucks! “This is your headline, it’s outragous in order to get readers mad and clicking, and it’s bullshit. I’m not going to trust anything you ever write again.
The specific issues with the phone I mention have been widely reported elsewhere. I’m not making this up:
Camera: http://bit.ly/uRivWN
Screen: http://bit.ly/veDeXx
Examples would be nice.
OK, so why if Elgan’s experiences are so far removed from reality why didn’t he check with others?
Look, I know several people who have the 4S. All said battery life was as good or better than the 4. Perhaps Elgan got a phone with a goofy battery? Who knows. But his experience is not typical.
The camera?! The 4S camera is a wonder. Major improvement here. No contest. It’s this assertion from Elgan that makes me wonder about the veracity of his entire article. To say the 4S camera sucks is just unexplainable.
His other comment on the look and feel of certain apps… Purely subjective nonsense. I like the way the apps look. So there.
Screen quality?! Again, not sure what Elgan is talking about. All the 4S screens I’ve seen look fine, either alone, or next to a 4.
What’s left. Oh, Siri is occasionally un-reliable. Uhhh…. OK.
All in all, I just can’t trust Elgan. When he noticed that his experiences where far from the norm, he should have re-grouped. I don’t know what his problem is or was. Perhaps he got a bad phone, perhaps he had unrealistic expectations, or perhaps he was just looking to write a contrarian story to drum up some traffic.
It’s fun to call someone a jackass, in part because there’s nothing to argue with. If I actually wrote something you disagree with, then tell me what that is, and we can argue about it.
Otherwise, it just sounds like I’m telling the truth, and you can’t handle the truth, as Jack Nicholson would say. : )
These are all widely reported problems.
Are you serious that you haven’t hear anything about battery issues or yellow screens? Really?
These are all widely reported problems.
Are you serious that you haven’t hear anything about battery issues or yellow screens? Really?
Name one thing I got wrong.
The iPhone 4 have far fewer problems. That’s my point. The iPhone 4s is overall harder to use.
Battery life seems fine. I used it quite extensively yesterday and it held up. I haven’t really tested though. Regardless, I plug it in every night anyway. So, battery has never really been a major issue.
My screen is slightly yellower than my iPhone 4. But it is not a dramatic difference. Regardless, I remember with one of my earlier iPhones (2 or 3, I forget), there was a yellow issue that was eventually software corrected.
Elgan pull your head from your ass! The yellow screen is adhesive….it drys after a couple days the same thing occured with the iPhone 4! A real tech blogger would know this. Also, the battery life of a new iOS version always drops on the .0 version. Apple will bring in performance enhancements to improve just like they did with previous iOS versions. A REAL Tech Blogger would know this. You are a hack!
Really Mike. I’ve been to 3 Apple Stores in the past weeks and looked at a LOT of 4S screens. No such discoloration. Battery life? As I said, I have a number of friends and clients who have the 4S. No one has said anything about poor battery life or being anything worse than the 4.
The FUDmeister who wrote that Microsoft’s Zune “scares Apple to the core”? No thanks.
Hits really that hard to come by, guys?
Dislike.
OMG, I can’t believe anyone would give up an Apple product for a P.O.S. malware-infested ‘roid! Why have a copycat when the real thing is so much better?
Known hater? Here’s what I’ve written: http://www.cultofmac.com/autho…
Hi Mike :waves: you’re being obtuse and a drama queen about this. Yes. Man up and take some responsibility for your phone’s battery life. Certainly you’re having some fun today. Carry on.
I write 150 opinion columns a year, and all you can come up with is a column I wrote for another site FIVE YEARS AGO?
I’ll assume, since you’re working so hard to dig through the archives, that you LOVE the 750 articles I’ve written since then.
I haven’t given up the iPhone. In fact, in the past three years, I’ve every iPhone, both iPads, have switched from Windows to an iMac and even started wearing an iPod as a wristwatch. Wow, what an Apple hater. ; )
iOS 4, see there is one right there. Now go read an article by Walt Mossberg and see what tech journalism is supposed to look like.
So your personal visits to Apple stores is more credible than the hundreds of links I posted in reply to your comment of users reporting exactly the same problems I’m experiencing?
From Forbes.com:
“It appears, though, that the 4S’ problem is somewhat different. On the older models, the yellow only appeared in spots. This time around, it’s encompassing the whole screen, not just a few places, leading some users to complain the screens themselves are bad. The problem has already been dubbed “Yellowgate” because this isn’t the first time the screen issue has been reported on Apple’s mobile devices. The nickname echoes Apple’s “Antennagate” scandal, so dubbed when Phone 4 models were losing their signals depending on how they were held.”

Been bitten by Apple too many times now. I am left-handed and had the attenuation problem, and to be told that it’s my own fault, not good. I also managed to miss a flight due to the alarm problem which wasn’t fixed til, actually I’m not sure if it was ever fixed. Am currently finding Lion to be a bit of a pig running wise, I’m sure it’s slower. Coupled with the fact that my copy of Final Cut Pro now doesn’t work and I don’t fancy the Final Cut iMovie thing, I’m done. Enough’s enough.
Mike, bring your phone to an Apple Store. They’ll swap it out for the display. Just as they did the 4’s.
As far as battery life, do not restore from a back up. This has been an issue with all iPhones across all firmwares. If you want to fix your battery issue, back up your data to the cloud, and then restore your phone as new. Problem solved.
The camera, is unbelievably better. Faster and clearer. Unfortunately you can’t control shutter speed (name a phone that can). But your motion blur you’re seeing must be from 1) a dark enough surrounding 2) not tapping the screen to set the appropriate exposure and white balance. You want a faster shutter speed without using the flash? Tap on the brightest part of screen image before taking the photo.
95% of my experience with Siri has been spot-on. I’m super-impressed with this beta feature.
— user error/ignorance, a bad display, and a bug from a restored backup does not constitute a bad phone for everyone. You’re in the 5%. And apple will take care of you.
Right where? Why can’t you find anything specific to dispute?
I think the comments on this page are more credible than your useless theories about the 4S.
Here’s what they call a “benchmark”, Mike. It’s when a person or organization takes a device and “measures” it using a “standards”. This one is from Tom’s Hardware.
http://bit.ly/srCAJl
7-8% under certain conditions is not “significant”. People respect measurement and verification. People typically don’t react as well to “feels like” and “in my experience”, especially when quasi-quantitative words like “significant” are added to the mix.
Then again, if you had to appeal to standards, I don’t suppose you’d have much of a career.
In truth, Mike has some good points. Some are dead wrong – the camera is a definite improvement, and blaming it for his lack of a steady hand is not only subjective, it’s scapegoating. Take responsibility, Mike.
But he makes good points as well. If in fact his screen is yellow (still) it may not be the glue, as it was in the past, and Apple isn’t immune to screen issues – look at the iPad 2’s initial woes.
He’s also dead on about the battery issues, in my (subjective) opinion – I’ve noticed that as well.
The cheesy app designs are an iOS 5 issue, and I’m still reserving judgement on them. I’m not crazy about them, but I’m not resorting to hyperbolic language as some are. The design most definitely isn’t “sinister.”
iCloud sucks if you use Google – again, he’s dead on.
Siri IS in beta, which Elgan acknowledges. He also qualifies his argument about Siri being inconsistant by saying he loves it. That sounds like a measured response to me.
All in all, it’s a well-reasoned argument. Not entirely accurate, but much more so than many other articles I’ve read on CoM. Well put, Mike.
I agree. That’s why the comments by people saying they have the same problems demonstrate that my “theories” aren’t useless, but instead are shared by many others.
The iPhone 4S is an evolutionary step.
I personally don’t care for Siri, but the new camera is great and the rest of the phone is just as good or slightly better than the already excellent iPhone 4.
So no, it doesn’t suck at all.
Unnecessarily abusive. Do your OWN research: the previous adhesive issues resolved themselves within 3-5 days, as the adhesive dried. Mike knows this. He’s now 11 days in, and if it was an adhesive issue, it should have resolved.
There is also no guarantee that Apple will resolve the battery issue. As the phone is now, Mike says he can’t recommend it. If iOS 5.1 resolves it, I’m sure Mike will gladly retract his statement.
Learn to think objectively before puking all over your keyboard and calling it a rebuttal.
Mike, since you think your iPhone 4S ‘sucks’, i’m sure you don’t mind giving it away right? I’ll take it in any time.
I’ve also challenged several people to specify what I got wrong in the column, and so far none has been able to do so.
Quite the rebuttal there. Congrats on that paternity test coming back negative, BTW. Montel says hi.
By the way, here’s what I’m talking about. The first three pictures were taken by me (of my wife and son) taken in a pretty well lit CrossFit gym. The fourth picture shows (from left to right) a white iPhone 4s, a black iPhone 4s and a black iPhone 4.
http://www.cultofmac.com/wp-co…
http://www.cultofmac.com/wp-co…
http://www.cultofmac.com/wp-co…
http://www.cultofmac.com/wp-co… you can see, the one on the right has the best color, and the one in the middle the worst, due to yellowing. And it’s not “splotchy” yellowing as was seen in previous glue issues, but evenly distributed across every pixel.
Nice try. : )
Nice review of the bullshit review. Mike Elgan, you keep asking for specifics, here they are. Thanks Robbie for taking the time.
You’re right. It’s shit. I thought it was going to be good to. I bought the black 64GB model for 699.99. I’ve returned it. The only thing I liked was the quicker app downloads. It felt exactly the same as my iPhone 4. I already have Cydia tweaks that can do everything iOS 5 can and even some stuff it can’t. I don’t like the look of the notification centre, I’m not one of these people that takes pictures everywhere I go so I don’t care about the 8 megapixel camera and because I live in the UK Siri can’t even find me businesses. If you’ve never had an iPhone before sure buy it but if you’ve already have an iPhone 4 it’s a waste of money and you will get bored quick. Buy an iPad or something instead
I thought it read easily enough – not entirely accurate, but not the nonsensical drivel you’re making it out to be. Apple has not released any statements regarding the yellow screen issue (and they DID last time) so while it’s a safe assumption, it’s not guaranteed to be the same issue. Mike has had his 4s for 11 days now, and previous adhesive issues resolved much quicker than that. And where is this battery fix you’re talking about?
I usually expect to hear measured and reasoned responses from you – this feels very knee-jerk.
LOL Mike getting his sister to fight his battles now. Go back to an android forum butt buddies
Do you want more examples, Mike? Really? That would require 5 times more research than what went into this pile. Your MO is well-documented. If the intellectual reaction to your articles was to ignore them, you wouldn’t be writing. You count on visceral reactions from thinking people to monetize your garbage. Do you think 150 people going on about how much of a troll you are is an indication that you’re speaking truth to power? I know you don’t believe that.
Think about that the next time you come out from under your bridge and get behind your keyboard.
Apple suffers from expectations of perfection. They are not perfect.
The 3G/3GS shows us that we could have expected exactly what we got, a 4GS. Instead people bought into all this weird hype in the media.
Virtually everyone has a two-year contract, so I’d say the 4GS is a pretty damn good upgrade from a 3GS.
You are clearly a liar an fanboy. How. An you say the battery is better than the iPhone 4, you lose 100 hour on stand by. Get your rose tinted glasses out and don’t be a sheep. The article is right. The 4s is a gimmick that fanboys who had the 4 have wasted money on just to get Siri. Smh.
I’ll keep my 4 and see what 5-6 brings. Good article and on on point.
…had the 3Gs and got the 4s; what a change. Sure, all the bad ass geeks of the world needs their little hardware novelty. Sure, Apple released the 4s that looks like and act about the 4. Sure, Siri ain’t perfect, often sucks but is a big leap from Voice over and even if I’m on the international side of its maps, for instance, functionalities, I think it will eventually be as useful as internet on a mobile. On the other side, the 4s overall speed is incredible and its responsivness is magnificent. And for a 3Gs owner, its a huge jump in design, speed and functionalities.
I also was on the expectation of a really new iPhone 5 but realized from the rumor cycle beginning that they were sliding in a 4s revision with better performance specs with one or two new software features. One brand new phones each two years guys. Keep it in mind for the next round. that is why the iPhone 5, next spring, should be a total beaut’. All in hardware novelties but the the same iOS. Apple cycle…
I love when people say, I’m done with CoM, I’ve removed it, etc, etc. Who gives a shit if you fanboys get upset over an article and leave. They know you’re not leaving, you just think your threat matter to someone. IT DOESN’T. JOG ON SON, JOG ON.
Mike, he disagrees that you can find anything at fault with any apple product. You’re article knocked shook the beehive and they are now all attacking, just to attack. It’s the MO of fanboys everywhere. People aren’t allowed to have an opinion that doesn’t fall in line with fanboy membership.
Seriously, is that the best picture of yourself you could find? Ouch!
Are you on like day 2 of being sober? Ive never taken a picture that blurry with my 4s. You have some serious withdrawal shakes goin on!
I suppose it’s like all the 4 users who complained about the horrible antenna – including Consumer Reports. Perhaps you have a bad unit? Get Apple to replace it. I double-checked with a few of my friends and yes, a few admit to having to turn off certain notification features in order to match the battery life. So, perhaps battery life is going to be an issue for some.

‘Nuff said.
You say the iPhone 4S sucks… that’s an opinion that will piss people off. Say it’s got issues or problems and be rational. To say it sucks is a bunch of opinionated shit. It doesn’t suck. It sucks because it isn’t on your level of expectations (generated from rumors). Don’t trash the thing because it doesn’t live up to your pompous ass. I’ll never read one of your articles again.
Wow. You put me in my place. The derogatory homosexual/incest reference was especially effective. Your decision to discard reason in favor of personal attacks is exemplary – now I know exactly how much credence to lend you.
For me the most scary fact lies in the discussion above the article itself which gives a hint that Apple is being apparently followed by fanatics who would like to crucify the author even without any rational argument given at all, because he dared to say something bad about the iGoddess. Starting to understand why Apple users are sometimes called sheeps. Personally, I find the MacMook Pro and MacBook Air really good, probably the best on the market, I was also really happy with the iPhone 3GS. I can’t judge iPhone 4s since I’m awaiting one in few days, however when I’ve got it I’ll try to provide an unbiased review. Me too, similar to the author, am also little bit frightened by the decaying tendency of the quality of the Apple products but it’s probably inevitable once a company reaches certain size and marketing success… The best is the freedom of choice we have, you like it, get it! You don’t, try to improve it (even by a reasonable criticism) or get something else!
Hardly, it still sucks…
IOS5 Killed IOS…
This is such obvious link bait. Shameful. 6 point article split over 2 pages (for the extra ads). 2 points are iOS5 not 4S issues. Screen colouration is a rehash of the transient iPhone 4 issue, iCloud is a rehash of the Mobile Me issue. Camera is disagreed with by every independent review I’ve seen.
Shame on you.
Mike, the problem is you’re a horrible photographer. Almost as bad as you are a tech pundit… I can’t even discern any “yellowing” in your phone pics. Please. Stop.
No, I’ve taken 1,000 photos or more in the same light with my iPhone 4 without any blur.
You don’t think the blues in the phone in the middle are “greener” than the one on the right? Come on.
the problem is that you’re using a Forbes article that was written by Mobiledia. I’ve heard a few isolated complaints about bad screens but that’s going to happen in any device that is produced. You can’t mass produce 10 million iphones in a month without a small percentage (5-8%) having defects. That’s just how life works. A small vocal group doesn’t mean the problem is as widespread as you’re claiming. I haven’t seen anyone on our feeds complaining about the yellow screens. I’ve checked in with a friend who works at the Genius bar and he hasn’t seen any phones returned for a yellow screen, and he’s only heard of it happening once at their store.
I respect you, I like what you write (sometimes), but I think your sensationalist claims are off on this article. Battery life is fine as long as you didn’t restore from a backup (this has been a problem with every new iPhone that’s come out). The camera is great. It’s no replacement for a DSLR, but it’s a big improvement from the iPhone 4. Taking pictures of objects in motion is always going to produce lousy results whether it’s an iPhone 4 or 4S. Learn where to complain first. I’m not a fan of the leather design of the new apps, but I don’t hate it either. Apple’s design is still better that 95% of their developers. iCloud isn’t superb, but it has legs to bloom into something phenomenal. I’d give it 3 out of 5 stars. And Siri – Siri is cool. You’re right, it doesn’t understand you every time but what what on the market is better? You’re the one that over-hyped Siri without ever trying it out. You only have yourself to blame for be disappointed when it didn’t meet your expectations. Expectations that weren’t based on anything in reality. Perhaps you should hold off on writing an article like that before you actually get to try it.
What phone on the market is better than the iPhone 4S? Hate on it all you want, but what phone are you going to buy that is better? There isn’t one. The problem with the iPhone 4S is writers like you decided to hype it beyond any reasonable expectation, and then when the iPhone 4S didn’t wipe your ass for you it’s decided that it sucks? Please! Gain some perspective and then come back to us with a better article instead of continuing to write opinion articles that are pure speculation on a future you have no talent in predicting, or articles that only contain hyperbole to cover-up for your lack of insight.
So many reviewers and professionals disagree with you over the camera. If it is bad as you say, there are a lot of Apple haters that would be all over that band wagon. It’s also always easy to say “Wait for the next gen phone, it will be better.” that should always be the case. If you don’t want it, don’t buy one. If you don’t like it, return it.
First the image stabilization is for video not for still pictures. Nowhere does it say it works on still pictures. Would love it if it did. Haven’t tried video so I can’t comment on it, but you should do some research beforehand. The camera for me is excellent, though I am upgrading from a 3GS so I’m biased. I also had no problems getting Siri to know my relations. I wasn’t sure Siri would understand in laws, but it does. The only issue with relationships I noticed is my sister who kept her maiden as her middle name. If I just I tell Siri to send a text to my sister using only her first name, Siri doesn’t know who it is, but if I specifiy first and middle name, then Siri recognizes whom I referring too. Overall I’m very happy with the 4S.
I appreciate the examples Mike. But I feel like we’re seeing different things and I’m not sure why blaming the iPhone and saying it sucks is appropriate without context or comparisons. I don’t want to sound like an apologist, but I want to make sure we have perspective.
This may sound like a stupid assumption, and I apologize if it sounds condescending, but we first want to make sure that the camera is NOT on HDR mode. We’ll assume it wasn’t. So first exercise photo (the woman climbing?) seems like a little bit of camera shake, maybe a little bit of motion blur. The second photo (man on floor) is obviously camera shake, not motion blur. And the third is obviously motion blur, not camera shake. So the question is, what’s causing the longer shutter speeds? A not brightly lit indoor room? The flash seems obviously off. Without checking the exif data (to find shutter speed, aperture and ISO) it’s hard to know for sure. Know what i mean?
My guess is the iPhone 4S probably goes up to around 800 ISO. At that ISO, it still not super easy to get blur free shots indoors. I don’t believe there’s any image stabilization for still shots on the 4S. So that’s why darn near every camera will have it’s flash kick in.
At some point, there’s a cutoff. Apple decides that beyond 1/x shutter speed, it’s just too slow for practical use and if you try taking a photo in really really dark conditions, you just get a black image. It’s a tradeoff of course.
Do I get shots with motion blur and camera shake with my iPhone 4S? I do, but I’m not convinced that I wouldn’t with any other camera. The only way I wouldn’t be is if one of two things are happening:
– Apple is setting it’s ISO’s very low and opting for lower noise instead of faster shutter speeds
– Apple is keeping their apertures small and opting for greater depth of field over faster shutter speeds
Knowing the exif/exposure data would be the most telling. But so far as a comparison, I know this: the iPhone 4 camera was great, but flawed. Whereas the iPhone 4S camera is fantastic and has none of the flaws from the iPhone 4. But just one person’s experience.
ETA: So it piqued my interest and so I did a little digging into the exposure data. It appears as though the 4S likes to stay around low ISO’s whenever possible, even dipping frequently down to 1/15 sec shutter speeds. That’s slow. Motion blur will EASILY occur at 1/15 sec. So in essence, the default mode in the 4S (maybe the 4 too? maybe other cameras?) is not optimized for action shots. But I found plenty of sharp shots at 1/15 and 1/20 shutter speeds. The highest ISO i found from the 4S was 800, while from the 4 I did see 1000. Only 1/3 stop difference so not huge. The large aperture sort of makes it even I suppose. And lastly, the 4S has only one aperture: f/2.4. It will not stop down, rather it simply adjusts ISO and shutter speed accordingly. I think 1/10 sec may be the 4S’ slowest available shutter speed.
When will Apple open up the API’s to control exposure and white balance on the iPhone? I’ve wanted that for so long. That’s my biggest wish at this point.
interesting little anecdotes but not universal. Every point in the article is a total 180 from my own personal experience. My battery does just great on 14 hour days in the desert, my screen has no yellowing, my camera is awesome. and so on
and no one in my 20 person crew or on set (perhaps another 3 dozen folks) has any similar issues to what Mike is describing.
it’s possible he got a bad unit but it is no more a major flaw than the 1/2 of 1% of folks in shitty ATT service areas was a major design flaw for the iphone 4
Given the fact that Apple’s well known Mantra is, ‘It just works’ the debacle that was the IPhone 4 which clearly didn’t just work, coupled with this has just done for me. No more I say.
Wow. Mike Elgan stoops to link baiting. And disagrees with every other review of the iPhone.
Wow, can someone give me a link for a refund…
For the two minutes of my life I just wasted reading that pile of cr@p!
Dear Mike,
I won’t be like all the others that are trashing you without producing a single argument. I just want to point out the following:
Your arguments are flawed since they don’t all relate to the iPhone 4s. Some relate to iOS5 and iCloud.
When you argue point 1, 2, and 3, there is nothing I can say since it’s based on the eyes of the beholder. Some people may notice different kinds of coloring on the screen, some people are just not that good at taking photographs, and some people use a ridiculous amount of apps at once that it drains battery life. With the photograph and image stabilization issue, Apple said it would only be for video recording, not photo capturing.
Now, on to points 4, 5, and 6. I think here is where you are trying to hard, which really disappoints me. You start by saying that the apps look cheesy. Is that even an argument, or is it your own personal opinion based on the design of a product? Do different designs of apps hinder their functionality?
What about the confusion of the iCloud and your Pages document that disappeared? I’m sure you knew, like the rest of us did, that documents in the clouds work only on iOS, not on a Mac. You wrote your page document on an iMac, of course it won’t be uploaded to iCloud since that’s not what Apple marketed it for.
As for the final argument, didn’t you already answer your own question about the use of Siri and its unreliability? You yourself stated it’s in Beta, so why the paragraphs? Give it some time, it’ll expand. You know how Apple works. They don’t rush things. They slowly like to grow their products to defeat the market, one step at a time.
Looking forward to hearing your response.
Y.
Andy, you hit the nail on the head. Mike put in a great title to get readers to click and the story blows. I already commented on how the majority of Mike’s comments are bogus and I’d love to see how he responds to GEAGLE’s response
Great points. I wrote several similar items in a comment posted to the article on the datamation site but they have since been erased. I think Mike is getting a lot of heat for this article. Hopefully he’s realized he can’t just make up a ‘click selling’ article title.
Seriously horrible article. GEAGLE sums up my sentiments best in his comments below. @Mike Elgan If I actually read another article of yours it will be with a healthy dose of skepticism as its clear you are more interested in clicks than providing quality literary work.
Now Apple is working with users to fix the battery problem some of the commenters here say doesn’t exist.
http://www.appleinsider.com/ar…
I’ll agree with you when you can tell me where to get an iPhone 4s without iOS 5. : )
You’re taking heat for this article, but I think you’re right. The Apple user community majority needs to quit praising and defending iOS5, the 4S and iCloud and push Apple to fix the problems and/or recall the phone. Apple has the cash and talent, they just don’t have inspiration.
There is one thing I’ve learnt all my life. Never stoop down to the level of an apple fanboy
Apple suffers from expectations of perfection, because that’s what they have marketed themselves as.
I have one and it really sucks, people can’t hear me when I call, text messages that don’t send, calls that never call. I hate my new phone and apple has not helped.
Gotta love all of these gay Apple graphics designers trying to defend their beloved Apple.
I don’t feel sorry for anyone who let’s a phone ruin their life! Write things down people! “My calendars don’t sync with Outlook and now I have no idea when my birthday is”! Goodness, what would you do if THERE WERE NO IPHONES? “Oh poor me….I asked my phone to tell me how to get to a restaurant INSTEAD OF ASKING A HUMAN BEING, now I can’t find one and fulfill my cravings…MY LIFE IS OVER AS I KNOW IT! Let me call the minimum wage worker at Applecare and curse them out and demand my phone that I spent alllllllll this money on (FREE with your wireless plan not the $700 many boost about) be fixed by the bones of Steve Jobs NOWWWW! Get over yourselves! If your life depends on a PHONE then you truly have a sad existence….really. Who puts there life and rely’s ON A PHONE…IT’S A PHONE…A PHONE….AT THE END OF THE DAY A PHONE! I have an Iphone 4 AND I write things down and I memorize numbers, and I an address book…and I also USE MY BRAIN. If something happened to you poor dependent deserving Apple customers and your phone was lost you’d be at a pay phone trying to dial “police” istead of remembering the three digits 9-1-1!
Seriously, is that the best comment you could find? Ouch! You think this is really me Jerk off?
I’ve had an iPhone from day 1. I have always felt the good outweighed the bad and defended the phone and it’s os. But, the iPhone 4s is not defendable.
I dealt with the 4s for two weeks, called the idiots at AppleDon’tCare multiple times, went into the Apple Store twice, and still got ZERO help getting the phone to function half as well as the 4. I took the phone back today and got my money back less the $37 restock fee that Apple charged me to take back their terrible phone.
I’m done with Apple. The way I was treated during the last two weeks was atrocious. I will be buying an Android phone now and will not be upgrading my iMac, MacBook Pro, my iPods, or any of my other Apple product. From someone who has spent tens of thousands of dollars on Apple products over the years, I implore anyone thinking about buying the 4s to NOT DO SO. It is a very bad phone, and there will be no one there to care when you realize it.
To the idiot below me (humanwithapenandpaper): you are truly an idiot. There are some of us that are productive and efficient. Other products are doing these things just fine, and Apple products traditionally have. You are a simple-minded twit with poor grammar and a poor vision. Not everyone can be as useless and archaic as you. Sit there and be average while you watch everyone around you excel – and deal with it.

“He never likes nothing” – Pretty much sums up your level of intelligence. The 4s is garbage and he is reporting it accurately. You just look like an illiterate ass.
Hahaha fanboys must learn their place Apple has 2 years on Android (which is why their is so much hype about it being “the best”) Higher end Androids are so much better I think the problem with ppl who trade Droids to get insignifigantphones are like my friend Jason, he has a Droid phone that he says he hates and would trade it for an iphone (The device is running Froyo/1.2, 4.0 is out)
its like someone having Dial up connection (know ppl who have it trust me its still out their believe it or not) and complaining how (laggy slow and how it always freezes like *LOWER* Android Devices
As the article says it the insignifigantphone 4sucking sucks so much 4 the *i* when Apple to this day controls how you do things yet *i*diots buy into to like its the best (which its not) Even Apples CO finder Steve Wozniak thinks so…
(http://www.ibtimes.com/article…
Not to mention fanboys need things so simple that all they gotta do is press 1 button if they get lost or confused
***TO ALL FANBOYS*** I figured I would put extra spaces between the paragraphs to make it SIMPLE 4 u kids to read and less complicated for you :-) HOPE YOU ENJOYED AND CLICK ‘like’ IF U R A DROID FAN AND AGREE
ANDROID FTW
Wow what a terrible article, anyone taking this guy seriously or anyone bashing the phone on these boards are stone cold nuts. I literally wasted 5 minutes of my life on this bull shit.
My battery last 2 days or more depending on what Im using the phone for. The Camera is absolutely fine. The motion blur and stabilization is for the video camera but I guess you completely overlooked that fact before you bought it. The screen is not broken? I do not even know how to respond to that one???? colours, crispness, look fantastic, nice and bright. Cheesy designed apps? now your just nitpicking pal… seriously how does the ‘look’ of certain apps affect the overall functionality of the phone? I could care less how blinged out or dull apps look as long as they do what I need them to do.
Now the one area I can give you is icloud. Im running OSX leopard and do not have a computer that accepts the specs of OSX Lion, so for me Im kinda of screwed to use icloud. But furthermore, you have to pay a yearly subscription to use the full features of icloud, that is ridiculous. In a nut shell icloud sucks and I have no intention of using it, There is a free app called Dropbox that does everything I need it to do in a cloud service.
BTW, whoever wrote this article sounds like a little child with your nitpicking issues, number 4 in your article made me laugh so hard, once I read that I couldn’t take this write up seriously. enjoy your Android.
