Place your iPhone’s camera too close to your subject and it loses its ability to focus, but not if you turn it into a microscope. That’s possible with a simple Blips sticker that’s placed over your iPhone’s camera lens — and you can preorder yours right now.
Blips lenses first landed on Kickstarter back in May. After surpassing the funding goal, they’re now available to anyone. They’re claimed to be the world’s thinnest lenses for portable microscopy, and they’re compatible with almost any smartphone or tablet.
The basic Blips kit comes with two lenses — micro and macro — which are made up of several layers of composite material. They’re applied to your iPhone just like a sticker, but the lens itself uses electrostatic forces so there’s no need to worry about getting glue stuck on your camera.

The Blips macro lens can focus on details at around 1/7,000 of an inch, while the micro lens can focus at around 1/20 of an inch. They’re ideal for taking detailed photos of tiny subjects and close-up shots of things like insects, flowers and fibers.

No, that’s just macro photography, not microscope. Microscope photography is usually considered 20x magnification and above.
Yup, it’s a microscope.
I bought this and the additional Ultra lens actually provides that level of magnification.
Metricated readers may be interested to know that 1/7000 inch = 1/275.6mm or 0.0036mm, whilst 1/20 inch = 1/1.27mm or 0.79mm. Thanks.
