Businesses across the US are pretty much out of excuses for not accepting Apple Pay now that Square’s wireless card reader is ready for prime time.
Starting today, every Apple Store in the US is now selling the new Square card readers that bring Apple Pay support as well as the ability to accept new chip-and-pin cards for transactions.

Square’s original reader was given away for free, but you’ll have to reach into your wallet and pay $49 for the new reader with NFC capabilities. The Square NFC reader starter kit also includes the classic Square reader so you can still swipe debit and credit cards the old fashioned way.
The new card reader was announced last year at WWDC and was rolled out to 100 small businesses at the end of last year as a test run. If you don’t have an Apple Store nearby, you can also order the new reader from Square’s website.
