Sony has announced two new all-in-one speaker docks for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod today, which claim to be the world’s first speakers to use magnetic fluid for dampening. Both devices also feature built-in DAB radios and CD players, while one also offers wireless Bluetooth connectivity and your own light show.
Both “all-in-one” devices also feature a built-in radio that will pick up FM, AM, and DAB signals, and a CD player. The CMT-V75BTiP, which is the most exciting of the two, also features Bluetooth for wireless connections to your iOS devices, and promises to liven up your parties with a light show.
Sony is yet to unveil pricing for each dock, but they’ll be in stores from the end of this month.

Ferrofuild has been around for 40 years, and has been used by plenty of speaker manufacturers for damping, centering, and dissipating heat from the voice coil. Not a new thing, just hype. Sony has lost it mojo and can’t seem to get it back, should spend more time developing products and less on prosecuting downloaders.
Yeah, but does it cost 1/4 the price AND sound better than a BOSE dock?
They are absolutely NOT the first to use magnetic fluid, (technology developed in 1968), in their speakers for dampening. That is simply twisted marketing hype!
What’s DAB signals?
