A new screen protector company offers iPhone users something they’ve never had before — the ability to showcase personalized artwork directly on their device’s Screen Skinz screen protector while maintaining full functionality during use. Thanks to tech magic, the artwork only shows when the handset’s screen is locked.

“Screen Skinz lets users proudly highlight their favorite team or character with the confidence that a premium tempered glass screen protector has them covered,” said RaShaun Brown, co-founder of Screen Skinz. “With Screen Skinz, your phone has protection when you need it and personality when you want it.”

Screen Skinz brings customizable artwork to iPhone screen protectors

Screen Skinz, which bills itself as the creator of the world’s first customizable screen protector, uses a patented etching process to embed designs directly into premium tempered glass. The result is artwork that’s visible when your iPhone is locked but completely invisible during normal use.

For iPhone users who have long been limited to expressing their personality through cases alone, Screen Skinz represents the first real innovation in screen-side personalization. Whether showcasing team loyalty, beloved characters or personal memories, the technology finally gives iPhone owners a way to make their lock screen as individual as they are.

The concept addresses a gap that has existed since smartphones became ubiquitous. While iPhone cases have offered endless customization options for the back of devices, the screen side has remained purely functional. Screen Skinz changes that dynamic while maintaining the protective qualities iPhone users need for their substantial device investment.

How the technology works

Far beyond sport team logos, you can design whatever you want.

The company’s proprietary process etches designs like team logos, cartoon characters, personal photos or custom artwork directly onto 9H-rated tempered glass. This creates what Screen Skinz describes as “a tattoo for your device.” It’s permanent artwork that doesn’t interfere with touch sensitivity or display clarity when the phone is active.

The .33mm thick protectors maintain the same protective qualities iPhone users expect from premium screen protection, Screen Skinz said. That includes  scratch and drop resistance. But it adds a personalization element traditionally limited to phone cases.

Official partnerships expand design options

Screen Skinz secured licensing agreements with major brands and sports organizations. So it can offer officially licensed designs from the NFL, MLB, NBA, NCAA and Hello Kitty. This gives iPhone users access to professional artwork featuring their favorite teams and characters without the copyright concerns that come with unofficial merchandise.

For users wanting something more personal, the company also creates custom screen protectors featuring personal photos, company logos, text or original artwork. According to the company, they can recreate virtually any design customers provide.

iPhone 17 lineup support

You can get Screen Skinz screen protectors for the entire iPhone 17 family, including iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Each model receives precisely cut protectors designed to work with their specific screen dimensions and features.

Screen Skinz protectors are available now through the company’s website at screenskinz.com, with expanded retail availability planned for Fanatics.com and ZAGG.com in the coming months. Pricing ranges from $34.99 to $49.99 depending on the iPhone model and design complexity. The company offers both standard clear and privacy options, with all products backed by a lifetime warranty.
