Most of us take pictures with our phones, but if you walk around with one or more actual cameras from your fancy collection, a boutique camera maker has a new strap that could change your life.

The Goodman Camera Strap with Mag-Lock takes the tensile strength of Kevlar cord and marries it to a quick-release magnetic locking harness system attached to a handmade leather camera strap.

Goodman Camera Strap with Mag-Lock

Dora Goodman Cameras makes open-source, 3D-printed medium format film cameras, hand-crafted custom cameras and hand-made accessories.

The company’s new offering, the Goodman Camera Strap with Mag-Lock, is a leather strap that uses a magnetic locking system. It lets you easily attach or detach the strap from a camera.

Goodman called its magnetic locking attachments “harness links.” The company said the links set its straps apart from others because the harness system makes it quick and easy to attach a new strap to any camera.

You can also swap out harness links on the strap. You can buy extra links in lengths of 7cm (about 2.7 inches) or 12cm (about 4.7 inches) lengths, opening up more options for your camera toting.

A secure connection

Goodman said tit makes the strap out of leather with a Kevlar binding. Adding magnetic Harness locks makes for a quick-release system that is easy to use and secure, the company said.

The connection the links make appears similar to that of the popular Peak Design Anchor Straps, but the links may allow for faster clipping and unclipping.

The Goodman Camera Strap with Mag-Lock is available in Asphalt or Clay colors in either 95cm (37in) or 125cm (49in) lengths. The choice of long or short harness links does not change the price of the strap.

Price: Starts at $68
