You know, I really like this Nokia ad mocking iPhone users over their lack of color choices.

Featuring a joyless, shifting line moving slowly forward to consume the monochrome iPhone 5, it shows a gray world thrown into anarchy when one customer dares to ask about their color choices. Then, when that customer steps out of line, he sees a number of bright, vibrant, colorful people wandering around, uniquely bopping and having fun. They are all carrying Lumias.

Is the iPhone 5’s lack of color choices a big deal? Not for me: that’s what cases are for. I also think it’s important to remember that these ads aren’t aimed at trying to argue people who already want an iPhone out of buying one: they are aimed at convincing people who already know they don’t want an iPhone that a Lumia is better than an Android phone because of its colorful designs.

So I think this ad is really great. It really reminds me of some of the wonderfully designed and experimental cartoons of U.P.A. that came out in the 50s and 60s.

  1. Nathan says:

When making a commercial, you don’t approach it by saying iPhones are ugly. The only phone that can match the 5s in looks is the htc one.
