After months of rumor, speculation and delay, Rupert Murdoch’s iPad-only newspaper, The Daily, is finally ready to say “how do you do,” judging by these very stodgy and dusty invites News Corp. just sent out.
The Daily will be officially unveiled on Wednesday, February 2nd at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City at 11am EST, headed by Rupert Murdoch and Apple VP of Internet Services Eddie Cue.
Eddy Cue? iTunes guy. While it’s disappointing that earlier rumors of Steve Jobs leaping out of an invisible, hovering Batwing and crashing through a skylight mid-presentaion haven’t panned out (mostly due to his recent illness, not lack of sophisticated crime-fighting equipment), Cue’s a perfectly appropriate candidate, since he’d be the guy hammering out the details of how iTunes’ new in-app subscription plan works.
As for the Daily itself, we don’t know much yet about what it will bring besides the $0.99 per week subscription price, but next Tuesday should reveal all.
