The Apple Online Store is back up and, along with revealing how exorbitantly expensive the Apple Watch Edition will be, Apple has laid out the prices for its various watch bands.
Right now the Apple Store carries a variety of different band styles. We imagine more will be come out as the product line progresses, but it looks like you’ll only be able to get the Classic Buckle if you throw down $10,000 for the Apple Watch Edition. The Sport watch bands come with two bands in the box: one small, one large.
Here are the different price points:
- 38mm Sport Band – $49
- 42mm Sport Band – $49
- 42mm Leather Loop – $149
- 42mm Classic Buckle – $149
- 38mm Milanese Loop $149
- 38mm Modern Buckle – $249
- 38mm Modern Buckle – $249
- 42mm Link Bracelet – $449
The store also reveals that Apple Watch charging cables will cost between $29.99 and $39.99, depending on if you want a cable that’s 1 meter or 2 meters in length.

Buster: I can’t tell, maybe I’m not seeing it, but is the Sport able to use any band or just the Sport bands?
I think so.
Can anyone confirm please?
Thanks, Alfonso. I was able to find the info. According to Apple’s website, the case of the watch can accommodate any of the bands.
Wont look too good though will it – as the colour of the steel metal clip won’t match up with the matt aluminium colour of the body
I do not think so. Apple Watch Sport can only use sport bands.
Not so. Any band will fit on any watch. The case of the watch is the same across the board.
So $1100 for the steel watch and link band. NOPE.
I find this insane. I want the Space Black but not that stupid band.
I love the look of the leather loop but $149 for that is flat out ridiculous. I could buy a half decent leather jacket for the same price.
So do you want the “half decent” or the one you “love”?
I’d rather have the watch wristband, but my point is that a little leather watch strap being $149 in addition to an already expensive watch seems rather outrageous to me.
Has anybody created an A4 sheet to print out to cut out a cardboard watch with a strap to get a feel for whether 38 or 42 looks best on the wrist? :) My writes is relatively small for a guy, but not entirely sure. Would love to do print a template myself, but not sure how to get the sizing to match up!
Infuriating how the 38 doesn’t offer the loop leather and only offers that hideous (to my eyes) modern buckle instead! Makes me want to go for the 42. Then at least i can have the classic buckle and change it later.
A new topic for the moaning Minnie’s to get worked up about!
If Apple offered a thousand different bands for every model, there would still be a moaner somewhere bleating about the choice on offer.
