iOS 19 could revamp the iPhone’s Camera app with a design language similar to visionOS. As part of the redesign, Apple might move most controls to the bottom for easy access — and split the camera interface into Photo and Video modes.
iOS 19’s Camera app could sport a sleeker look
Apple hasn’t significantly revamped the Camera app in a few years, despite adding new photographic features with every iPhone release. The upcoming iOS 19 update could finally change this.
Leaker Jon Prosser from Front Page Tech claims to have received a video from his sources showing the new design of the iOS 19 Camera app. While he did not post the exact video, he shared a mockup video based on the original. Prosser says the Camera app will take its design ethos from visionOS, with translucent design elements.
There will be two main modes: Photo and Video. You supposedly will tap on the toggle to bring up more photo- or video-specific modes, like spatial video, panorama, etc. The new Camera app in iOS 19 also would make additional settings accessible from a top bar, including the ability to change the video resolution and frame rate.

Could iOS 19 adopt visionOS design elements?
While not confirmed, Apple may adapt some of visionOS’s design principles in iOS 19, making extensive use of translucent menus and UI elements. This is long overdue, as Apple has not given iOS a design makeover in nearly a decade.
Previous rumors indicated Apple would adopt visionOS visual elements in iOS 18, but that did not happen. The company potentially delayed the design changes to focus on Apple Intelligence. Even if Apple goes ahead with the design refresh, it is unlikely to introduce any functionality changes.
If the leak proves accurate, we could see Apple showcase iOS 19’s new Camera app at WWDC25, which should take place in June.
