If you want to make photo collages on your iPhone or iPad, you use Diptic. Those are the rules. But a challenger is in town: Fuzel, from the Vietnamese designers at Not A Basement Studio, will launch on July 12th and looks to be a fast and easy way to make great collages.
I don’t have a pre-release copy, so I’m going by the same video you can see above. But even there we see some gems amongst the heaps of cheesy content (Freedom? A long road ahead? Puh-lease). The first thing that struck me is the custom image browser which lets you select multiple pictures for the collage at the same time. Diptic forces you to go one-at-a-time, which gets old surprisingly fast.
The other neat trick is the arbitrary lines for the layout. As I never stop telling you, I write almost every post on my iPad these days, and the biggest hurdle is the photos for the posts. Sometimes I cheat and just use a video (like here), and sometimes a single image is just fine, which makes things easy. But combining two photos into one can be tricky, even with Diptic and the excellent Photogene. I’m looking forward to trying out Fuzel for just this reason.

Looks Fuzel has been in the app store since at least March.
Yes, Fuzel has been out in the App store for a few months now, and is a great alternative to some of the more popular standard collage apps such as Diptic and PicFrame.

Meanwhile, the current paid version of Fuzel will be renamed Fuzel Pro, and it will get an update a few days after.
