Play-Doh World and 3 other exclusive games join Apple Arcade
So just as June and July brought some new games to Apple Arcade, so too does August. Check them out below.
Play-Doh World brings digital creativity to life
Developed by Scary Beasties, Play-Doh World transforms the iconic modeling compound experience into an interactive digital environment. Players can craft custom characters and watch them animate in real-time, from designing wild zoo animals to creating elaborate salon hairstyles. The game features dozens of interactive zones and collectible special Play-Doh varieties, with regular content updates planned to keep the creative possibilities fresh.
The digital Play-Doh experience maintains the brand’s focus on imagination-led play while providing a safe, ad-free environment for children. Every corner of the colorful universe responds to player creativity, making it an ideal platform for open-ended artistic expression.
Worms franchise returns with dimensional warfare
StoryToys and Behaviour Interactive developed Worms Across Worlds as the next evolution of the award-winning strategy series. The game’s story follows Professor Worminkle’s reality-threatening experiments that send the invertebrate warriors hurtling through five distinct dimensions. Players must chase the mad scientist across these varied worlds in strategic turn-based battles.
The game supports both solo campaigns and four-team multiplayer matches, with each dimension presenting unique challenges and environments. This marks a significant expansion for the Worms franchise, introducing new gameplay mechanics while maintaining the series’ signature blend of strategy and humor.
Tower defense meets galactic conquest
Ponos Corporation’s Let’s Go Mightycat! serves as a spinoff from the popular tower defense game The Battle Cats. Players control an ordinary feline transformed into a cosmic conqueror by an all-powerful being. The game combines puzzle elements with the goal of bringing every planet under the Cat Empire’s control.
Customization options include stylish capes and the ability to rescue interstellar companions. The colorful planetary stages offer varying levels of challenge. Each tap brings players closer to galactic domination through adorable yet strategic gameplay.
Traditional shogi gets modern makeover
AltPlus Inc.’s Everybody Shogi reimagines the centuries-old Japanese strategy board game with contemporary visual design and intuitive controls. The game introduces shogi through puzzle-style stages. And it maintains the strategic depth that has made the traditional game enduring.
Features include daily challenges, unlockable piece designs and custom deck building. Real-time matches against global players with seamless crossplay across devices make the ancient game accessible to modern audiences through fast-paced gameplay in a bright, welcoming environment.
