A FedEx driver was arrested for forging signatures on iPad deliveries and selling the stolen goods.
In a two-month period, police in Jennings, Louisiana say that FedEx driver Michael Wright scribbled the John Hancocks on the documents for iPad deliveries. Then he sold those magical tablets to a businessman named Shannon Guillory for $200 each.
Wright, 31, was charged with 20 felony counts — 14 counts of theft of merchandise over $500 and 6 for the forgeries. Of the 14 iPads nicked, six have been recovered. One was reportedly given away.
Guillory, 31, racked up 13 counts of illegal possession of stolen goods in the episode and was released on bail.
No word on how they were caught — perhaps those irate almost-iPad owners raised cain with Apple?

I worked at a large tech company with an extensive “work from home” program. Around 10% of the MacBook Pros sent to employees vanished in transit.
FedEx would just shrug and pay out the shipping insurance.
Check out this great apple blog!

Wow, 14 iPads sold to Jennings, Louisinna Apple customers in a 60-day period. That seems like a brisk sales rate for a small town.
I worked for FedEx in the early 90s and this was going on back then, except that it was the large boxes that Gateway (remember them; with the cow print?) used to ship in would vanish. They finally tailed and caught a courier unloading his truck at a buddy’s house.
