Managing your digital files with Dropbox has been one of the best tools for cloud users for years, but the service is now ready to take its talents to the physical world with a new update that makes it easier to collaborate with people wherever you are.
Dropbox revealed today that it has added the ability to scan documents with its iOS app, allowing users to capture ideas off of whiteboards, sketches, receipts or printed work documents. Once scanned, the files are saved to Dropbox as a .PDF and you can search inside the scan if you’re a business user.
The new update adds a ton of other notable new features. Mobile users can now create a Microsoft Office document from the app. Photos on your iPhone now be managed from your Mac and you can add comments to files and photos.
Teams are getting more control over who can edit documents and who can only view them. You can also preview earlier versions of a file incase someone makes a mistake. The free update is available now on the App Store.
