Dropbox Teams is a new service that the popular cloud storage and sync service is offering to small businesses and professional groups. The new plan is designed to encourage collaboration and large data transfers between a limited group of people.

The service will start at $795 per year for up to five users, with $125 per additional user. Dropbox uses Amazon’s S3 backend for secure data transfers with AES-256 bit encryption. Customers are able to access their shared Dropbox folders on a array of devices, including the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac.

Dropbox Teams is geared towards professionals that need to send files back and forth quickly and access important documents and media on the go. Storing files in Dropbox will let customers view that content on the service’s apps for Windows, Mac, Linux, iPad, iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry devices.

Dropbox offers one terabyte of storage for Teams customers, with each additional user receiving 200 gigabytes of extra space.

For professionals that are interested in Dropbox Teams, the company offers dedicated phone support and unlimited version history for all stored files.

The handsfree, ubiquitous nature of Dropbox makes it an optimal solution for small businesses. Potential customers can check out more about the service on Dropbox’s website.

    It’s called a web server… But one.

I’m guessing you’ve never actually tried dropbox before, otherwise you’d know that a web server is a completely different style solution.

I’m happy about this new service since a lot of my customers are huge Dropbox fans and would love the added storage and sync capabilities of the team setup.
