Cool Sticker Turns Your Magic Trackpad Into a ‘Magic Numpad’

Find yourself longing for a numeric keypad while using Apple’s wireless keyboard? Mobee has an easy solution: a sticker that turns your Magic Trackpad into a ‘Magic Numpad‘.

The $29.90 kit begins shipping in October, and comes with the software, a special pen, and three ‘Magic Films’ required to turn your trackpad into the coolest numeric keypad in town. The different films allow even you to customize the keypad to suit you.

I think the Magic Numpad looks awesome, but I’m not sure it will be as practical as the real thing. What do you think? Will you buy Mobee’s kit?

Very cool! But not for $29.90. They’re just plastic overlays, right? That seems more like a $9.99 item. Maybe if I can get work to expense them.

Looks great. Can’t believe “it just fits.”

Wonder if it’ll work with just the software alone.  We all know the number pad without looking, do we really need the film to see the numbers that we are never really looking at when typing them anyway?

but without feeling the keys could you still do it

I hope you guys review this when it comes out. The software implementation can really make or break the usability of something like this.

This is pretty much exactly what I have been looking for since apple stopped making the 104 key wireless keyboard in favor of the magic track pad and BT keyboard.  I just hope the software works well; the plastic overlays are the easy part.

Remember, there’s also software involved to make the keypad work, although $30 for a one-trick utility program like this is a bit steep. Seems more like a $20 item, which would still give the company a nice profit on each sale (from my non-insider viewpoint).

True, it would take some practice but like anything its just a behavioral pattern to master.
