Apple has not been known to look kindly upon toys made in the likeness of the company’s iconic, recently deceased founder, Steve Jobs.
Any guesses, then, as to how long it’ll take for them to pile on DiD Corp for this eerily accurate action figure of Steve? The 30 centimeter statue is available now for preorder at just $99.99 and will supposedly ship out in February, but if Apple hasn’t sent a strongly worded letter (and, failing that, some pipe-wielding muscle) to DiD Corp by then, preventing the sale of the device, well, I’ll be a monkey’s uncle.

Just curious, is Steve Jobs likeness a registered trademark owned by the Apple Corporation, or is his likeness property of his estate?
I’m not an attorney, but it would seem that unless he actually signed an agreement giving Apple licensing rights, etc., Apple has no standing to protect the likeness of an individual, even it’s co-founder and former CEO. Especially now that he is deceased.
Any attorneys online care to offer a pro bono opinion.

IANAL but all people, especially famous people, have publicity rights. You can’t use a person’s likeness publicly without permission, except under limited circumstances, mainly parody or news. Rights do vary by state and the rights do pass on to his estate. An example would be Michael Jackson’s estate receiving money for a video game with his character.
A trademark is used to brand a product and is only protected as long as it is in active trade. Publicity rights are different, because they relate to a specific person, for example a video game with a Steve Jobs character, even if nobody has ever used Steve Jobs to brand a product.
There’s no reason to believe that Steve Jobs does not have an agreement with Apple over his rights. Part of the job of a CEO is to be a public spokesperson for the company. For a rank and file employee, this would be part of their employment contract and would cover stuff such as giving the rights for Apple to use a developer’s name and picture to promote his work.
Does it come with a removable liver?
If they do, I’m all in. But I’d have to see that some people actually got it before I plunk down my money to a company i’ve never heard of until just now.
